Which of your guns for a long shot wager?

I know it won't make a lot of sense to a lot of people, but I'd choose my Cleveland issue model 10 HB. Only one time in my life did I ever feel 'undergunned' with that revolver.
Good at arms length - good at 100 yards. If I didn't handle the problem at that range, I'd sure have someone worried plenty.
Love those K-frame S&W's.

Never done it... sounds like something new to try at the range next time I go.

Have to be one of these two guys, though:

5.5" Redhawk

I'd expect greater success from the redhawk and my current 240gr LSWC load pushed by AA#7. I've been loading that particular recipe for a long time, whereas I've been playing with my 45acp recipe... I treat .45 as plinker fodder and don't worry about consistency with it so much.

Once I got the .44 ranged and found my hold over, I could probably hit a 12" circle 3/6 rounds at 100. A lot less at 200... I'd be lucky to get 1/6 I think.

I'd use the only handgun I currently own with which I've done any real amount of 100-yd shooting: My S&W 544, a 5"-barreled N-frame in .44-40. Everything I own that shoots faster bullets has less sight radius, and that starts getting noticeable for me at 100 yards.

I used to have an 8 3/8" Model 586 with a little Trashco scope and some elaborate target stocks that was a hoot to blaze away with out past a hundred...

Had pretty good luck out to 200 yards with this one...taken a number of game with it at that distance. Here's one of the practice targets....top and bottom half of target are different loads.

Rembrandt, you can't show something like that to a 1911 addict like me and not give some freakin' details LOL. Caliber, kit?, maker?
Don't even know that...and I want one.:eek::p

I do 200 and 300 fairly often with this one, though I'll admit that I don't do nearly the groups you'd get with a scoped, 14 inch barreled pistol. :rolleyes:
