I recently got a Tasco Pronghorn 3-9x32,

and it's working better than I would have expected on my .357 Magnum carbine. Yes, it's made in China, but if I drop it and wreck it, I'm not too concerned about a warranty -- it was only twenty five bucks. If I break it, I'll just buy another.
Fits the rifle perfectly, BTW. I like low-mount scope rings and the 32mm objective works well. Maybe I could get away with a 40mm, but anything bigger than that and I'd have to get higher rings, which I don't want.
point taken...My "once in a lifetime" shots consist of if I can hit the tin cans off of the log at 60yds out at the farm. I gave up hunting 20 years ago, so it's a moot point for me.
