I voted for the GP-100...more specifically the KGP-141. Though I really love older Smith 19s, that Ruger is just hard to beat for the money.

The Taurus Tracker series guns are interesting, too.

Any of the Mountain Guns.

P.S. Held the new Taurus .45 ACP
Very tempting.

I'd agree with CR Sam. The only new revolver I'd be tempted to purchase now would be a Dan Wesson .41 magnum (or maybe a .414 SM).

I have bought 1 or more of each of the rugers mentioned.
All ok so far. The 44 SRH has taken some heavy punishment, still as good as new. Same with the gp100, to a slightly lesser extent.
(I've been stricken with magnumitis, I shoot 90% plus heavy handloads.)
I did, however, take the time to hand select all three from several of each model. Sadly, there was an appreicable amount of QC between them.

I'm not known for buying many NEW revolvers, but if I were in the market it would be one known around these parts as *&*. ;)

NEW REVOLVERS

What is the reason(s) you guys have for not buying ANY
new production revolvers?

Also, what does *&* mean?

My understanding is that the Python is a custom shop only deal. If I'm right, then it is really not a production handgun. AND being a custom shop item, it should be head and shoulders above any production handgun. However, Colt isn't exactly the most stable company on the planet and it would surprise me to see them fold (haven't seen many new Colts at shows and no local shop carries any of their remaining guns).

Been keeping my eye out for a Mateba in .357 Magnum...

Or a 10" .45-70 Magnum Research BFR. Oops, I was supposed to choose from the list in the poll. My bad.

;)

Roger C, *&* means S&W, it's the current means to describe that company and their products after their ill-advised agreement with HUD and the Clinton Administration.
