which is the better 44 mag wheel gun?

Had a few 44 mags over the years. The s&w 5" classic was the only keeper for me. And it's not a great deal of fun to shoot.

Let's see here......redhawks? 5(41&357X2 :D , one 44) Choice B? None.

But I will admit the ruger is the less "refined" of the two. However I rarely run anything slower than 1200 through any of them, most are at or above 1400. None of them have ever missed a beat.

Get the Ruger...

You WONT break it, it carries a fantastic warranty(just in case you do break it, but you wont!) incredably accurate and will take the hottest loads under the sun without so much as a sneeze. Taurus revolvers just do not compare in terms of strength, quality and customer support.

I have a S&W 629 Magna Classic 7.5" 44mag, and 2 Super Blackhawk Bisley SA 44mag (one blued and one stainless hunter).

I think these are more comfortable to shoot as opposed to the Redhawk although the Redhawk is a hell of a sturdy gun. My wife has the Redhawk and does pretty well with it. The grip didn't fit my hand well and I think that is the main contributing factor as to why I prefer the S&W and the Bisleys. I have shot cases of factory 44mag ammo thru all of them (Magtech, Federal, Remington) and haven't had any issues.
