After a rather winding journey through most of the major brands and action types, I am currently of the mind that for someone who is dedicated enough to train properly with it, there is likely no better combat handgun than a reliable 1911.

For carry, if forced to carry an autoloader, would prefer Sig 220. But would be clam happy with a stone stock, unaltered, GI issue 1911 with milspec magazines and springs.
