Which Handguns "Hide Your Sins?"

I'm not a great handgun shot at all. But, there's a few that make me look like a much better shot than I am. My 686 was the first that does this. It has a trigger that, in SA, has absolutely no take up or overtravel. You just think about it and it snaps. My Ruger Blackhawk (50th Anniversary) is another. I unhooked on end of the trigger spring and now this gun has a trigger that's so light it's scary. I think my Buck Mark might be another one. First range trip resulted in 10 shots in a row in the 7 ring or better from around 42 ft. With every single one of these (except the Buck Mark because it's too new), I expect to put all 6 shots inside the black at 50 ft using the NRA slow fire target.

Any of the rest of you who aren't "pro shots" have a handgun or two that hides the "sins" of your technique and makes you look better than you really are?

Funny you brought this up. I was just discussing this with a buddy, oh, about a week ago I guess. For me, it's my Sig 239, 220, and a S&W Model 13.

I had to go almost six months without shooting while we renovated our range. If ever there was proof that shooting is a perishable skill, my first day back out was it.

Fortunately, the Sig P210 did a good job of hiding my shame.

EAA Witness Match 9mm. An absolute tack driver. Unfortunately for me, due to it's design, only ball ammo need apply when shooting so it had to go. I was very disappointed.

My S&W 629-6 does a pretty good job of it. Even when shooting mild .44 magnum loads, the near perfect single action trigger and S&W target sights make for one dangerously accurate combination. I don't think I've gotten better groups with any other gun.

My Colt 1911's come in a close second. Their single action triggers are a little heavier than the Smith, but they are still pretty easy to shoot, especially if I am going for speed over pure accuracy.

My Kimber Classic .45 is easily the most accurate of my many handguns. It makes me look like I know what I'm doing. My sigpro 2022 is very accurate also, more so than any of my other polymer-framed handguns.

my highpoint 45 is my most accurate gun, even over the springfield and rock island 1911's. i actually use the highpoint for home defense and the 1911's are my carry weapons.

My 6" full lug GP100 , it has a good trigger & enuff heft to stay still .

It was Love at first bang for this 1 :D

Yeah ,I know it does`nt sound rite !!

My 6 1/2" 29 makes me look good. With my mid-range 429421/231 load from 12 to 100 yards it is always 'right there'.
It just seems to hit at those distances with little or no thought -or in my case, ability.

I try not to share it too much. The gun does not respect it's owner and makes others look good too!;)

as far as the hand gun I am best with it is my Coonan 357 magnum automatic. I load it with 180-200 grain subsonic ammo and it shoots amazing (for me).

I all so like to shoot my BFR 45/70/450 marlin (10 inch barrel) . As long as I dont load it too hot I can shoot it very accurately as well.

I have a Wilson Combat Professional in .45. It is amazingly accurate and helps to make up my shooting flaws. My son and I head to the desert to shoot at least once a month, taking an array of handguns. I always end up with the Wilson at the end to make me feel better. My son has a Walther PPS in .40 that he likes best.

GP 100 38spl only, 4 in half lug barrel, sweet shooter. S&W 45acp MOD22-4 also a sweet shooter. Both put a smile on my face.:)

I've got two of 'em. First is my Sig. P232 in .380 and second is a M-9. Both of them fit my hand and have a good , natural aim. I pick it up press the trigger and a hole appears in the black part of the paper.

It would have to be my Kimber Pro CDPII. On a B-27 target 50 rounds inside the 8 ring at 25 yards. By far the easiest handgun for me to shoot. However, my most accurate handgun is a S&W 25-5, this one will print better groups than the Kimber but I have to work harder to do it.
