I'd recommend either:
1) The CZ75 Compact. I prefer the new alloy frame version (I believe its called the PCR model). This is the lightest and most compact of the CZ centerfire pistols, although it may cost a little over $400, and it still isn't really that compact or light.
2) A Kel-tec P11 (or P40). These are much lighter and more compact than any of the CZ75s, and should cost around $250. But they have a double-action-only trigger and will be difficult to shoot accurately.
I'd much rather shoot the CZ, but I'd rather carry the Kel-tec. I think you would enjoy shooting the CZ more (and be much more likely to hit with it). But the Kel-tec is so small, light, and inexpensive that it is hard to resist.
