Which gun for home defense?

Agreed: check out corneredcat.com

Training is important. I would recommend attending one of the NRA basic courses, and personal protection inside the home. (Or suitable substitutes in your area)

Always follow the four rules of firearm safety, get some training, and practice. You might find a new hobby, as well! :D

Before choosing a handgun, get some knowledge. One thing you need to decide before going forward is whether you have the metal attitude to use deadly force and maybe take someone's life. If you are not able to use deadly force; you do not want a firearm.

Once you get past that hurdle you need to learn about the available handguns types and cartridges. It is a lot of information. You need to learn what works for you. You also need to know the laws and regulations which bear upon your possession and use (including storage) of that firearm; especially if you use it in self-defense.

This is a serious undertaking and fairly complex. Do not expect to learn all you need to know in a few weeks.

If it was spam or what ever, the way some of you guys come off you'll scare a newbie right off the forum. I don't profess to be an expert on guns but some of you guys go way beyond in answering a simple question. :D

What part of, "she already bought a gun", don't you understand.

... before you criticize others, make sure you are in the thread you think you are in. You're probably thinking about Kyla/Phoebe, which was a different thread entirely.

"Lisa Roberts" was probably a troll. She hasn't returned to the thread since post 1, and as it has been pointed out, she gave a full name and a place of work. What woman who felt threatened would do that?

So, she hasn't been back to say she bought a gun. She probably won't be back, either, as she probably does not exist.

Guys, please look at the OP again.

"Lisa Roberts" has one (1) post in TFL. The original post in this thread. "She" has never returned. We have no idea what gun "she" bought. We have reason to think "she" doesn't exist.

Lisa Roberts at Hansons Windows has posted on a list of forums (fora) that take up over ten pages on Google. Joined 'em all this month.

However, BikerRN gave some really good advice.

I checked this and like u say Lisa Roberts has gone on several forums all this month and does not follow up on any except 1, Flashkit. It always starts "Hi, I'm Lisa Roberts and I work for Hansons Windows." And she has a lot of co-workers:rolleyes:. But a troll isn't supposed to b friendly but I suppose it might be some kind of spam. Anyways, it's weird, alright.
