Which do you prefer?

I'd like to hear from you guys about what you prefer, the glock 17 or 19. Without concealment and without competition as factors, which one is the better gun for you? And your reasons why?

still stuck

I will carry occasionally. But not as an everyday thing. This is the only reason why I'm still considering the 19 because of the smaller size and easier concealment. Let me hear more opinions, I'm still stuck between the 17 or 19. Thanks.

With a good holster, it's possible to carry the 17 concealed. I'm looking to carry my 17 and 31 concealed, with a 26/27 when deep concealment is a must.

Hello All,

Here's another vote for the G-17.:) I guess I favor it cuz
it was the first Glock introduced by Gaston.:D

I'm 5-7, and just generally prefer midsized guns. The only advantage to the 17 over the 19 is 2 extra rounds (not an issue if you don't use hi-caps), a longer grip (not an issue if you have small hands), and a slightly longer barrel and sight radius (not a big issue as this is more of a working weapon than a target gun). My only Glock is the Glock 23 (same as the Glock 19, but in .40 cal).

Must admit I love the ugly looks of a Glock 17 pistol. :D

Works great and feels good also. :)

Get a quality holster and let it rock and roll.

If I didn't have to conceal I would get the 17. But since I can't open carry, I want to consider the 19. Ack. This is so hard :D

Get the 19.. you won't regret it... IMO it's the best balanced of all the Glock 9mm offerings.. I'm partial to compact designs.. I also own a G23 and a Commander sized 1911 and enjoy them more than their full size conterparts. I traded off my 17 and my original 19 but had to have a 19 again because it's so versatile and a well balanced design for most applications.

I went with the 17 for a few of reasons.
1st it was the 1st one in the line.
2nd the longer barrel and sight radius
3rd I prefer fullsize guns

:)

You've already answered your own question.
Get the one you want! Go with your emotions since this is one of the great reasons why we "like what we like".

If you really like the G17, then get it. If you are only considering the G19 because of concealability but wouldn't otherwise, then get the G17.

Is this a true carry piece? How big are you, can you conceal the G17?

Don't be so overly practical unless you are only 5' tall and have really small hands.

If you get something other than what you really wanted, you might come to regret it and end up buying what you originally wanted anyway.

Sounds like you want the G17, so get it already!

the conflict....is...killing....me :)

How big are you, can you conceal the G17?

6'2" 185lbs

I should mention I've never carried before (I will get a permit first). So I don't have any experience with concealing a 17 vs. 19. Anyone around my size concealing a 17? How is it?

Count me as a G19 lover. Shaving a half inch from the barrel and grip does make a difference. More than it sounds like it should.

I count the G19 among Glock's best.

17c ?

Ok I've made up my mind. It's going to be the 17. I'm a relatively big guy (6'2" 185lbs) and I won't be carrying everyday, just occasionally depending on where I'm going.

The *only* remaining consideration is the 17c. I'm a beginning shooter, and I've never owned a gun before so I am considering the 17c because I've heard that it reduces muzzle flip and I'm thinking this could help me train to get better accuracy.

Don't get the 19c! There is very little recoil in a 9mm. Try and shoot one before you buy. I think the 19 is a very good 9mm maybe a little thick for some people but you do not need the c model.

I had a 21c and I felt it helped the recoil but 45's seem to push where other cal. kick up. IMHO plunker
