Which AK-47 to get?

I am liking the Romanian M10-762 Semi-Automatic AK-Type Rifle, 7.62X39

Very nice looking piece

Enjoy your weapon, and acquire ammo as they eat it up quick!!!!!:D

I can't confirm if they are good, but CZ make the CZ 858.

The link to it on the CZ website:

I recently saw one advertised and they seem nice. People rave about the CZ pistol range, seem well pleased with their rifle range, so seems reasonable to think the satisfaction would extend to that also!

i have the romanian "ak47" i bought in 1999 for y2k lol. it gets excellent accuracy at 25 and 50 yards. ok at 100 yards(hit a paper plate). kinda poor at 150(kinda hits a poster board most of the time).

never had a malfunction. shot over 2,000 over the years. i have a few mags loaded with vmax or zmax for hd. i feel better with 30 rounds in my ak than a pistol or pump shotgun. i have a light mounted on it.

Don't leave out the Yugo M70B1. I bought one and I have nothing bad to say. They are CAI and I really like it. The m70b1 is a full fixed stock and the m70b2 is a folder. If you can find one, check it out.

how does one check an ak47 for straight and centered? what are you checking? i really want one of those polish underfolders.

I should add that I've since been told that the CZ858 that I had suggested is not an AK, just an AK lookalike.

However, members did tell me it was worth looking at, all the same!!

I assume you are talking about the front sight post.

The best way to do it is run a straight edge from the center of the rear sight out to the front sight post. The further it is from the straight edge, the further you are going to have to shove the front sight to get it to sight in. Some of them are so far over, you can't.

Been looking at this one. It's local, once they get the rifle in they send it out to a gentleman that cuts new wood furniture for the gun and stains it nicely. Then the shop does basic cold bluing touch ups. Def more money than what youll find elsewhere for a wasr10, but i handled an unrefined versions at our only LGS with a good selection and it looked like garbage.
I wonder what the variance from the stock photos on some of these sites are vs the rifle you get. Some sites charge extra for "hand picked" for some of their mil surplus but still you just dont know till you unwrap it.

Im sure ill get some flak for wanting a "pretty" looking AK. Why buy a beater truck when you can buy a nice truck..
