Of the choices, I voted G19 but all in that size range are way too big for me to carry daily. I admire the folks who can carry big, full sized guns but that isn't me. There are several quality 9's and 40's that I own which are all much smaller and lighter. For my own preference, after five years of CCW, I like em fully loaded at 20-22 ounces total, slim, smooth-edged, and short. I just don't enjoy carrying bigger via iwb, which is the only way I carry due to how I prefer to dress.

If I'm on my land messing around in the timber, I have no problem rocking it out - outside waist holster/strong belt with 10mm glock or whatever - totally fine just not for CCW.

G27 is largest CCW gun I ever carry, and do 10% of time. It's still heavier and wider than I prefer but very doable w good equipment when I feel I need that caliber/capacity.

None of the above. They're all too large, too thick, and too heavy. While we admire those intrepid few who carry a full size 'compact' pistol every day, and have somehow adjusted their year-around wardrobe to accommodate that need, it is a very sad fact of life that anything too large for a pocket is, after a time, often left at home, where, if you need it, it might as well be on the moon.
Modern ammunition is nothing like the ammunition made in even the relatively recent past. Advances in bullet design and construction and propellant formulation have made smaller, slower calibers real monsters. Imagine a .22 Magnum delivering 1000 FPS, 12-13 inches of penetration, and assured positive expansion, even through multiple layers of denim, out of a mini revolver with a barrel only 1 5/8" long. And with reduced flash to protect your night vision should you have to fire in the dark. Welcome to the Hornady Critical Defense, Winchester PDX1, Speer Gold Dot, and a few others. It's the same with several other calibers that are much easier to handle and control in a micro-sized platform than the 9mm, which was designed to be used with heavy, full-sized military service pistols.
Don't be afraid to consider a .380 you'll actually carry, or a .32 ACP, or yes, even a .22 Magnum. They aren't your Daddy's calibers anymore. If CCW is to work, you must carry every day, everywhere you legally can.
It is appropriate to carry a concealed weapon anytime or anywhereyou are likely to come into the presence of any other person.

G19 or G26 all day everyday for the past 5 yrs, not in the least difficult, IWB and I'm a smaller guy.

Anyone can carry. I just want to see pictures of these people in various poses other than jist standing up to see how much one prints with full size

Just for the record the Ruger is just a smidge longer but thinner than the Glock and the weight is almost identical, the Sig is shorter by 1/4" and the FN is lighter and shorter. Before you go quoting weights from websites pay attention Glock in typical fashion lists weight without an empty mag unlike every other manufacture that list weight with a mag.
As to the poll any would be fine Glock's ergos just don't work for me personally but I have a SR9 a P229 and a FN FNS the later are 40s though and would carry any of the three any day.

I'm 5'8" and 270# NOBODY IS TRYING TO CATCH A GLIMPSE OF ANYTHING WHEN I BEND OVER.

Personally, I would choose none of the listed options. But's it's not about me, it's about you. I imagine you have pieced this list together because you have narrowed it down to this field. Ultimately, you should choose the pistol that you shoot the best and have the most confidence in. If you shoot them all equally, than the 19 is the lighter more compact choice to be certain.

The SR9C is actually a more appropriate model for this poll than the full size SR9. I carried one this summer before switching over to my SW1911 Sub-Compact in .45acp this winter. They're virtually the same size.

Out of your choices (since there is no P-07 there) I would probably pick the P229. Admittedly it would be easier to carry the G19 though.

One of you is wrong and one of you is right
And it's not the guy with a postal scale and digital calipers ;)

as I said earlier

What others like should not influence you unduly.

The firs question should be which firearm best fits your hand.

The second has to do with how you will carry it and get to it when you need it. That, and how important having a small size really is, will establish how large a firearm you can select. The larger, the more "shootable."

Then look into trigger mechanisms and trigger pull.

Good luck!

I appreciate all the constructive input. Originally I was thinking on getting a large sized handgun but I think something smaller may be more versatile. The only other handgun I was thinking about was the Sig P320 but it is a newer design and I was concerned about reliability.

Well, why didn't you say so!? I'd like to change my vote, now. lol. Don't be concerned about reliability. They're excellent. Trigger is excellent. Ergonomics are excellent.

The P320 compact is almost identical in size to the G19 an I, for one, like it better.

Biased poll

Put a compact up against larger and/or heavier guns. Winner is smallest, lightest (or maybe not lightest) gun. No duh.

Please consider what I am about to say.

My rule of thumb is carry the largest gun you can comfortably and effectively conceal. Bigger autos are much easier to make multiple accurate shots with than all these tiny guns everyone seems to love. The weight helps control the recoil, the grip accommodates all of your fingers, and the sight radius improves most shooter's accuracy.

Also, tiny guns, save for a few, are NOT fun to shoot. You need to practice with your carry gun as regularly as possible and if you don't enjoy shooting it you may just opt to shoot something else on range day. I also find larger guns MUCH easier (faster!) to draw from a holster because of the larger grip. I don't want to be fumbling around trying to get a decent grip on my weapon when fractions of a second count.

The only reason to carry a tiny gun is if you can't dress around a bigger gun or are just so uncomfortable carrying the extra weight around that you would consider leaving the bigger gun at home.

I'm 5'6" and have no problems carrying a 5" 1911 or Glock 19 every day, winter or summer. Those are my two EDCs and I conceal them just fine. Someone with above average attention to detail may be able to spot me but 99% of the population won't. I have a very well made belt and holsters for each gun and I honestly forget they're there some times.

IMO you were on the right track to begin with. I personally think the G19 and SR9c are about perfect carrying size. Not so small as to be difficult to shoot well but small enough to not have to dress around them as much.

All that said, if you think you may get sick of lugging around a bigger gun all day then by all means, buy the gun you WONT get sick of carrying ever. A tiny gun that's hard to shoot well is better than no gun at all.
