Which 9mm Auto Would You Consider The Best All Around Concealed Carry Gun?

I'm partial to SIGs - 239/225/228, in that order. Next up, maybe teh CZ 75B compact. Haven't shot one, but it sure felt good in hand.

If I had to choose just one...the Glock 26. You can hide it with the least of pains with a standard mag or you can get a mag adapter for a full three finger grip which adds slightly to the length. I carried one for a while and if you could hide a bar of Irish Spring soap on you...you could hide a G26, cause it's square and blocky like a bar of soap.:D

Plus it takes the magazines of it's larger brothers, the G17 and G19. Something to consider.

Good Shooting

HK P7M8

Lots of great choices, but I'll have to go with the P7M8, or CZ-75 PCR. Ohter great choices would be the BHP, Walther P-5 or Sig 225.

After much research I ended up with a Glock-26. I carry it in an Uncle Mike's #4 in my right front pocket 80% of the time. The rest of the time I use Belly Bands, OWB plastic Glock holster or an IWB kydex.

Good Luck With Your Choice, 44 Dan

I have to agree with 44Dan. G26 and a good pocket holster should do the trick. G19 would be second choice. G26 is just so much easier to carry and conceal than a full size pistol. If concealed carry is the primary prerequisite then that would be my first choice. WSH

Compact:

1. HK USPc 9mm: DA/SA with cocked and locked carry possible. Shorter and slimmer slide than the Glock 19. Slimmer grip also. 13+1 rounds.
2. Glock 19: This is a gun that will grow on you. At first glance for some they do not like it but eventually they grow to appreciate it.
Has the ability to carry 17+1 rounds with a flush mag and carries a 4 inch. barrel. Truly astonishing in a gun this small.
2. Sig P228: Bulkier and heavier than the above two but a good pistol. Can carry a 15 round mag. but mag. will extend from the grip. Is being carried as a non-polymer contender.

Sub-Compact:

1. Glock 26. Without a doubt the leader here. Fire it and you will be amazed at its accuracy and good handling.
2. Taurus Millenium: functional with many safety features.
3. Kel Tec: good value for money.

A floating, subjective standard.
What is mode of dress, prevailing climate, build, and prefered mode of carry? How much weight are you willing to carry?

For me a CZ-75B. CZ-75 PCR, Browning Hi-Power, and Kahr K9 are fine. A lot of heavy steel in Georgia. I'd rather have a good grip, negligable recoil, long sight radius, and steel in my hand when I'm trying to save my butt. CHL - learn it, live it, love it (yes I do have other hobbies). My other carry gun is a Kimber Pro frame, .45 ACP.

I've never tried a H&K P7, so I cannot really comment. From handling it and everything I read (heard), I suspect I'd love it.

(Most) All the choises mentioned are good guns. Gun-wise you cannot go wrong. The only wrong choise from that group is something you cannot conceal, and only because of the intended purpose.

The Kahr K9, being that concealability tops your criteria.

Prefer something in "duty size?"

The BHP.

I've owned a Star Ultrastar and a Ruger P95 in 9mm and a Bersa .380.

Of the above three, the Bersa is the only one that came close to being something sized just right, but it was heavy and a smaller caliber than I would like.

Noone has mentioned the Beretta 9000S. Does anyone have any experience with this gun?

If concealability is the main factor, I'd say the Kahr MK9 is the best tiny, reliable 9mm you can get. It's smaller and easier to conceal than a Glock 26, but you have to give up a few rounds.

I think the Kel-Tec P11 would be an excellent choice even if it cost twice what it does. I don't think you can find a lighter, more compact 9mm - much less one that holds 11 rounds. My P11 is very reliable. The trigger is long and moderately heavy, making it more difficult to shoot accurately than the larger, heavier pistols suggested, but that's the trade-off for ease of carry. I also have a CZ-75 PCR that I like very much, and an SW99 that is okay.

In 9mm, either the CZ75 PCR, SIG 225, or HS2000/Springfield XD. All virtually the same size. PCR gives you 10 rounds (unless you're lucky enough to find a rare 13rd mag). SIG is a just a tad slimmer and ever so slightly easier to conceal, but has smaller capacity. HS/XD is polymer with Glock-style trigger. 15rd Beretta and S&W 5906 mags can easily be made to work in it. All three pistols are super reliable.

In a bigger caliber, the SIG 239 in .40s&w or .357sig. Smaller capacity, but bigger bang. Even though it is slightly smaller than the 225 on paper, it feels a bit chunky in comparison. The Springfield XD40 is identical in size to its 9mm counterpart, but comes in .40s&w or .357sig. Ten round capacity.

In a mouse gun, a Makarov. A shade heavy, but rather slim and exceptionally reliable. Slightly more powerful than a .380 too.

Or an S&W AirLite Ti revolver. I've got one in .32 H&R magnum. Six shot capacity that approaches .38spl ballistics. But only weighs about 12 ounces. Great trigger too.

But as has been said earlier, your best bet is to pick the one you find most comfortable for you.

Take care. Marko
