Which .357

I like either of these for CC. The S&W 60-14 is a very concealable revolver, and the Trooper MKIII in a DeSanti holster will disappear under a T-shirt if it's not white. Dress around either and they work fine.

You must have the worlds shortest thumbs then

Actually fairly long, but if this makes any sense at all: with a solid grip on the...well,...grip...the pad of my thumb would overshoot the spur on the SP by about an inch unless I crooked my thumb is such a way as to catch it with the pad - in so doing I loose most of the strength in the fingers and weakens my grip.

Grip angle on the GP just works better for me for 1 handed operation - OP may indeed be better suited by something else

If you had to have a .357 Magnum for Home Defence & Concealed Carry

I don't have to have a .357 magnum, I've chosen to have several for years now. For my home defense I keep a K frame loaded, an L frame ready, and finally an N frame. All with a 158Gr. LSWC, ahead of 14.5Gr's of 2400. Now the L and N frames get shot a lot more than the K frame.

If I had to have a 357 magnum I would be happy. I have a 6" 686 a 3" model 13 and today brought home a 640 PRO.

I had a 640 when they first came out, loved the gun, traded for a 360 PD that I thought was the next evolution, it seems Sc-Ti revolvers do not stand up well to lots of magnums.

For an all around revolver it is very hard to beat an L frame Smith, they can digest thousands of magnums with no problem. The K frames last forever if you stick to the heavy magnums (158's), the 125's and 110 cause throat erosion problems when fired in the thousands.

I believe Smith and Wesson make the best revolvers today. I could not be happier with the fit and finish on my new addition.

Thanks!

Really appreciate all of the thoughts!
Wife & I will be going to a couple of ranges in the coming week to rent and shoot & visiting gun shops for fit testing. She has never fired a gun & it has been over 40 years since I have. We have also scheduled a couple of handgun classes.

stay away from the 605. I had one, it was a p.o.s. Developed a huge cylinder gap and would shave lead to the point of injuring me. Ruger GP100 or a smith any model no less than 4" barrel. You will be disappointed in the ballistics of the snub .357's not to mention the obnoxious muzzle blast. just my $.02

Buy a Smith or a Ruger, even the new Smiths I've bought recently all worked although not what they used to be. Steer clear of Rossi and Taurus, you have about a 50/50 chance of getting a good one, even then I don't know how they will hold up long term.
