Where To Get A Reliable AK-47 in .223?

+1 for the Arsenal/ Saiga.

I hate it when people ask this question and the replies are "get an AR if you want a .223!"
I have 4 AR's, and wanted a new rifle, an AK to be exact. I have absolutely no desire for another AR except for an SBR in .300 BLK. But, I happen to get a fairly unlimited amount of training ammo for .223 so I wanted to stick with a .223 for my AK. I have been very pleased with my Arsenal 106-FR.

I own an SAR-3 Romanian AK style in 5.56. I'm not sure if they are still available, I bought it 10+ years ago. It has a mounting "lug" (for lack of a better term) on the side of the receiver that allows it to mount optics (with a special mount of course). I believe I paid around $300, again, over a decade ago. I have a lot more money in furniture, folding stock, and magazines invested in it now. Thinking about selling it to try an AR style rifle, never owned one of those so I might give it a try.

Same here, except I haven't really changed anything on mine. It's a fun and reliable little rifle and I like it. I only had one "red" 30 round mag for a long time then Midway had some Promag, (I think), 30 rounders and I got a couple of those. They work fine.

My pride and joy in this particular catagory would be my Valmet M76 in 5.56. A very very nice rifle, very well made, awesome wood too. It has a great trigger and shoots better than I can. It even has night sights! The downside is that they can get a little pricey...$1,000 on up depending on condition and extras. And factory 30 round mags can bring $100 or more.
