where (on your body) do you conceal?

When it's hot and all I'm wearing is shorts and a t-shirt or tank top, I pocket carry either a Kahr PM9 or a Smith 637, the Kahr in a Mika and the revolver in a Nemesis ... when it cools off and I can wear a jacket or overshirt, I carry a Kimber UCII in a strong-side Fobus paddle holster or a DeSantis mini-slide. I prefer the .45, but despite the opinion of others, I simply can't get comfortable carrying the .45 IWB or without a shirt between me and the gun-holster.

From most recent Newsoftheweird.com:

"George Vera, who weighs nearly 600 pounds, was booked into jail in Houston in August and was in custody for more than 24 hours before he casually informed cops that they had missed finding the 9 mm handgun and two clips that were hidden in his rolls of fat. [KPRC-TV (Houston), 8-6-09]"

And that is all I want to know about ole George :D

IWB small of back for me. I am on the skinny side, and even my 3" 1911 prints if I carry anywhere else. In the winter I can get away with strong side 3-4 o'clock carry, but without a decent coat on, it sticks out like a sore thumb. The small of back carry is comforatable for me, even while sitting in the car, and I haven't fallen on it and busted a vertabrae........yet.

1. Under my left arm, inside my snap closed western shirt in a Kramer Leather "Confidant shirt"..

2. 1:00, IWB inside my tucked-in shirt. Holster is a neoprene pouch type holster held in place by tension/friction from my clothing and belt.

3. 3:30-4:00 OWB in a pancake style Galco holster under a leather vest.

Depends on temps and what I'm wearing that day.

Daryl.

W o W that looks uncomfortable and heavy
What makes it look uncomfortable?
Its not lite, but it is comfy.
It sits above and behind the hip bone and is pulled in tight against my body.I can also slide it further back into the 5 o'clock position if needed.

Ill admit a lot of other guns are more comfortable and lighter, but i don't own them and they aren't a 1911.Its just one of my gun choices,i have a micro .45 and will be adding another main gun soon.So im not stuck carrying it,i have other choices.
Ill still carry the 1911 in rotation tho.

To the OP:
I pocket carry a P3AT. I marvel at some's motivation, particularly, those who carry large guns. I tried and it drove me crazy with inconvenience and discomfort. I now reserve just a single pocket for my gun. I don't even feel that it's there anymore, as with my vehicle's seat belt. I do feel "off" a bit if it's not there though, again, as with the seat belt.

I can believe it - we had a 700 pound inmate with roaches living in his flab rolls.

I hear you. I dated a wound nurse for 3 1/2 years. She definitely had some stories. She was scared to death of a little bug or snake but, every now and then, she'd have to clean maggots off to go elbow-deep into some of the most stinking, decomposing, human problem areas imaginable. Personally speaking, they don't pay them nearly enough.

Yo DasFriek,

Hey man...nice picture. Looks like your weapon is on your left side. As far as I can tell, you are in these United States. If that is the case, stretch out your left and right hands as far as you can extend them. Now pretend you are a clock (not a digital one.) Wave your left hand. I will bet that is 9 O'Clock and now do the same with your right hand. Again, I will bet that is your 3 O'Clock position. Soooo......with the weapon tucked into your left side, slightly aft of your hip bone would be 8:30, and slight forward of your hip bone would be 9:30. And, again if I'm not mistaken, your hip bone would be 9 O'clock. Conversely, if the gun was on your right side hip bone, that would be 3 O'Clock.

I don't mean to be picky here and it is not my intention to find fault, but if a newbie is reading your posts, you really don't want to put out any bad poop. Speaking from experience, during tactical maneuvers, my instructor would yell something like, " Watch your Six." I always took that to mean my back. So if that was my back. Twelve would be the front. My left side would be my Nine and my right side was my Three.

And by the way, I never wear digital watches.

lol Yeh it was taken in a mirror :)
Surprisingly it was clean for once and was hard to tell, ill take my next one like that so its easier.
My gun is carried strong side on my right hip just above and behind the hip bone.I still prefer carrying this larger and heavier 1911 over my micro PT745.
I will be adding a Detonics CM or another very small 1911 to my main gun rotations.
Next time ill use 24hour clock positions standing backwards in a mirror just to screw with everyone, this time it was unintentional tho.

I hope that big crease in my arm can be fixed with plastic surgery! lol ill stop,it was an honest mistake.

I am appreciative that you took this the way I intended it. Seems that there are some people that are so very serious and do not have a sense of humor. My hat is off to you. Thanks.

Here's one that works for me

:) I'm 50+ female, slightly fluffy. The front pocket works good for me most of the time. However, I purchased a back brace that has two stripes of material on the sides. I put this on over my t-shirt if out and about in the yard. If I'm going out about taking care of business, I will cover it up with an open, button down shirt. My .38spl inside of a pocket holster can be placed in any positon, it stays put and concealed (tried it while on the riding mower). So, how inexpected and non treatening, a middle aged fluffy lady wearing a back brace :D

I try and not take anything serious anymore.A good laugh is always better than getting upset.

I also carry at about 3:30 IWB strong side for my primary, (usually my colt combat commander or gp100, then i like to have my BUG on the exact opposite weakside at 8:30, My bug is usually a Ruger SP101 or a bersa thunder .380, I even where a NAA black widow or a LCP on my ankle sometimes also..

Glock 19 or 26 in the Appenidix Inside-the-Waistband. Dale Fricke Ehud holster. Concealable, reasonably comfortable, and extremely fast draw.
