Where has the fun gone

Unless you are shooting on private property then it is the right of every other person on the range to know what you are doing.

BULL. You have a right to know I'm not doing anything to endanger you. You have no right to know why I shoot one round a second, or one round an hour. You have no right to know why I shoot a revolver vs a muzzle loading target rifle. You have no right to know "what I get out of it."

THIS was your original question. It has nothing to do with safety.

My question is - would anyone find this fun and enjoyable to shoot in this manner. Or maybe there is a point to this i'm not seeing. Maybe it is just me but I enjoy trying to improve my skills and this seems to take me completely out of the equation.

You shoot the way you want to. I'll shoot the way I want to.

I must be in the wrong place then....

I seriously thought when I signed up for this forum that it was about sharing information, either with those who seek the information or by asking questions to get information I didn't know. I thought this was a good way to expand my horizons and learn new things.

Since I had never seen anyone shoot the way he was shooting, I figured I would ask here and see what he could possibly be doing. I have now seen examples of what he was doing (a member here also suggested that I ask him). I asked and reported back since others may have the same question.

I guess trying to learn more and understand more about a sport/hobby that I'm participating in is frowned upon here. I should be expected to know everything before ever making a post and never ask any questions of others.

Sorry for the inconvenience of asking a question!

This is the best website I have ever been on regarding firearm information. It is friendly ..for the most part. Nobody was upset you asked a question. I disagree with what you said about it being your "right" to know anything im doing as long as im not hurting or endangering you. It is your right to ask a question and it is my right to refuse to answer if I choose to.

Relax bud and enjoy tfl. :)

Maybe things came out wrong - I have the right to know what people are doing if it will affect me and my enjoyment of the range. I came here and simply asked a question (looking for more information) to try and gain more knowledge and perspective. I learned allot about it from this thread and that simple question.

If I ask a question and you don't want to answer it, that is fine with me and I can accept that. It's when someone comes in and tells me that since it is not affecting me or hurting anyone that its none of my business. How is anyone supposed to learn anything and find out new things if they ask a question and are told that it's none of their business just because the person is not affecting anyone else.

If someone asked a general question of what the best bullet/case/primer/powder combination is for a specific gun I'm sure there would be lots of people that would respond. But I highly doubt that anyone would say that "it's none of your business what my favorite combination is because it doesn't affect you". Someone with that mentality would simply bypass the thread and read/post someplace else. I was not trying to change anyone else's ways, thoughts or ideas. I was simply looking for INFORMATION and thoughts on a specific style of shooting.

Right?

You are correct in this,,,
TFL is a great place to garner knowledge.

Unless you are shooting on private property then it is the right of every other person on the range to know what you are doing.

That's the only statement that anyone is taking exception with.

Honestly man, you do not have the right to know anything about what I am doing,,,
You certainly are within your rights to observe and make a judgement about whether to stay or leave,,,
But having some kind of inherent right to question me on what I am doing and expect that I (or anyone) must answer?,,,

That's the only thing bothering people here.
