When is Browning 1911-380 being released?

So it is more of a clone to the Colt Gov 380 than I thought. Interesting but seeing the wear I am getting on my 1911x22 by browning, I am going to wait and see what the masses say.

Right out the gate, it got the "dandy" Quinn seal of approval. I reckon that seal ranks right up there with Good Housekeeping, UL, and J.D. Power! As if I needed any more encouragement to purchase this one!

What pistol has not got his seal of approval? Seriously, the man has never given a negative review. I like him, but he is not who I look to for an objective gun review. Every gun has pros and cons, and people who don't talk about the cons in a review are basically just doing advertising for the manufacturer.

Your concern addressed in older thread. http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=494973
My posts hint of sarcasm may have been a little faint.
But, here's a short list of Quinn negatives:
SW60 Pro
ATI Fatboy 1911
EAA Witness Limited 45
Cobra Patriot
Colt WWI Army Replica
Detonics Combat Master

I enjoy his reviews, along w/ hickok45. I suspect their zeal for firearms leads them to review those that they enjoy. More or less.

With the high price and limited availability of 380, I don't know why anyone would choose it over 9 except for very small concealed carry pistols. I buy 9 for $12-15 per box but I have to pay $20+ for the cheapest 380 I can find, when I can find it. The only 380 I could find yesterday within 20 miles of my hose was $25. I buy 38 Special 2 miles from my house for $22.

In answer to the original question. I don't know.
In fact I don't know if the manufacturer knows.
I've reached a point where I don't care when any new model releases come out. (just a rant from an old guy):(

I suspect that it will be a popular gun with female shooters. It's a 1911 scaled down for smaller hands with likely minimal recoil, and a reportedly easy to work slide.

Guns don't have to be the smallest or the most powerful for their caliber to be enjoyable or useful. A 4" bbl .38 Special is a very useful and enjoyable gun-even if the same gun is available in .357. Many people don't want or need a .357 (or 9mm, etc.)

I'm still trying to get a feeling the size of this pistol.

Its almost the exact same size as the Colt 1903, I realize that might not be helpful but its all I've got for ya.

1911 A1
Browning 1911-22 (same size as the new .380)
Star DK (gun the SIG P238 was copied from)
