I started carryin' a X&X mod 15 (.38spl) shortly sometime after I turned 20.

Yeah, yeah -- agaisnt the law (federal or state). I won't mention any of the other various laws -- but living in Atlanta has showed me enough first-hand crime to convince me that there wasn't any law out there that was going to protect me when my arse was on the line.

Please feel free to use the analogy. Spread it far and wide!

We need to carry guns to protect our children.
I carry a gun "FOR THE CHILDREN!" ;)

I started to carry concealed last year. Arizona is an open carry state, and I did that for many years. What pushed me over the edge was the vast numbers of gangbangers which had moved into my old neighborhood. Although open carry was good for intimidation, I did not want the little buggers to know when I was carrying.(Does the white boy have a gun, or not. Is it worth getting shot in order to find out.) I also did not want to tempt the bas!ards with a jucy morsel to attempt to steal. ;)

After my sister was murdered in Norfolk, Va. in 1987. When trying to come to grips with the sureal nightmare, I asked the detective in charge what I could do to protect my family from further harm. His reponse- "Get yourself a gun, learn how to use it proficienlty, and carry it with you with you wherever you go." This was in the days before ccw shall carry laws were in effect. I was living in Texas at the time. I began to understand that most law enforcement personnel really are right thinking people who understand the need for good people to protect themselves from the scum that infect the streets.

Just a side note to Red Bull, At the time I got my permit I wasn't married and had no children. I now carry to protect my family and myself ;)

I've had my CCW since I turned 21 last year. Lots of peewny females like me make great targets for would-be rapists. I carry my K40 with me every day in my belly band.

ak9 I agree with your post about LEO. I've got 3 family members who are Deputy Sheriffs as well as State Police in two different states. All of them and my other LEO friends have said that the best thing to do is carry when you can, whether it's legal or not. Just be discreet and not a gun waving fool. They are for the most part right thinking pro gun American Citizens.

I don't remember how old I was when I first started carring, but I remember having a hard time keeping my gun from printing under my diaper. I carry because I can. I feel it's might right to carry despite what many anti's say.

I got my CCW to carry in my vehicle. Usually carry Beretta 92 "Concealed Carry" 9mm. My wife has her .380 Colt and also has a CCW.

Have only needed to pull a weapon on people during a one year period in 1971. Eleven bravo in the Cav.

I've pulled duty on the border between East and West Germany. I saw what disarming the people can do.

I am retiring and my wife is job hunting. I will follow her career for a while. We are considering jobs that will move us out of State. Carry laws GREATLY affect our decision about where to go. Going back to Texas looks good.
