Actually, coyotes usually DON'T make good pets. Their wild instincts usually keep them from ever becoming truly tame...and from becoming too attached to their "owner".
I have to disagree, I had my coyote for over 7 years. Raised it from a pup after the mom got hit by a car. I never had a problem with coy. People at the vet couldnt believe how nice and calm he was. He slept with me at night while I watched the cows during calving season. Never left my side or bothered the calves, he would let me know when ever something got close. As for never becoming attached Id say he was there wasnt a time when he wouldnt be by my side. Grandpa also had badgers, racoons, and once a bobcat. People also said buffalo couldnt be trained but grandpa had one that would bow and lay down on command. Of course old Ted Nugent had one he could ride.
