Whats your wife carry?

I am trying to help my wife find a gun that she likes to shoot and she would be able to carry easily. She does not like revolvers and found my kahr pm9 to have to much kick. I would like for her to carry a 9 so that we can afford for her to shoot it and I am not real comfortable with her carrying a smaller caliber. Any suggestions would be great

My wife carries a glock 23 (.40 S&W) but it is also her duty weapon.
She likes it.

If you want a 9mm in the same style, size try the glock 19.

My wife carries a 2.75" Ruger Security Six .357 or a S&W M36. The .357 is loaded with the speer short barrel gold dot and the .38 with the remington LSWCHP.

Try to find a SIG P6/P225. It is a single stack 9mm (8+1) so its fairly light and narrow.

I bought my wife a Kahr K9 for CCW. The recoil was a wake up call after only firing her Sig Mosquito but she is getting better every range session with it. She's all of 110 lbs and has a bad wrist; physically it is no problem to shoot we just need to get her past the flinching stage and she will be fine. I would recommend the K9.

A Glock G26 or S&W M&P compact would also make great CCW guns.

My wife chose a S&W 442. She prefers revolvers, and practices enough with the J frame to be competent. If revolvers are just out for your wife, you might have her try out an M&P 9c or Glock 19. A CZ Rami might work, as well. Whatever the final choice, it is certainly best to let her shoot them all first, if you have that option in your area.

My wife won't carry anything but a snubbie .357,she likes it because it's small and it goes bang x6.She can shoot my semi's but most of mine are way to big for her to grip.

Being a single woman, I don't have a wife. I carry a custom-built bobtail Commander Wilson Combat 1911. If I had to carry a 9mm, I'd go back to my collection of Browning Hi-Powers.

Soon the girlfriend will start carrying. Her daddy got her a Walther PPS and I paid for her CHL class/paperwork for Christmas. She likes the PPS and as been practicing with with...getting purdy good too, I'm afraid she'll be able to outshoot me soon. :o

That SW6906 is probably heavier than your Kahr, so less perceived recoil. Heck of a gun; compact, 12 rounds and as a police trade-in -$300.

Finally convinced mine to get her permit, after 13 years it's about time. She has been toting the Model 60 snub around the house and hiking as well as the Sig P232, she loves both of them but she is partial to the Sig. I have it loaded with BB Gold Dots which have better ballistic performance than 38 +P Hydrashoks, so don't rule out the 380ACP!!

My carry gun is a Glock 26. It holds 10+1 of 9mm and is small enough that I can easily carry it in an IWB holster under regular, feminine clothing.

Other women I know carry & enjoy guns ranging from 1911 and 1911 clones in various calibers, to Kahr P- and PM- series guns, to Springfield XDs, to S&W Chief's Specials & other similar revolvers, to Bersas and Browning HPs and S&W M&Ps with their replaceable grip panels -- and lots more too.

Oddly, from this you'd almost think that women are individuals, with their own individual preferences, lifestyles, and abilities ... ;)

If you're really serious about finding a gun for your wife, I suggest you both stop by my website at www.corneredcat.com. You might especially want to visit the section titled "For the Men," and I think you'll both find several articles that should help her narrow down her choices as she does the shopping for her gun.
