IMHO, the S&W cylinder release is "wrong" and the DW is done right. It's not because I shot or carried a DW first, the first .38SPL and above revolver I shot was my first gun, a Taurus 83, so it was just like a bad, very bad, S&W. The first time I opened the cylinder up on the first 15-2 I had bought, I wondered why it would be done any other way. I'm more ambidextrous than most people, so that might have something to do with it. The only problem I see with the new one is the pricing. But when people pay $700 for a polymer framed gun, $1000 or so for a hunk of stainless steel doesn't seem that bad..
