What's your Hideout gun?

I should have been more specific in the title

It's OK tho because You guys are showing some really cool Hide-outs!
I also carry a Beretta Bobcat .22 just because it's so small and light. Fully loaded you hardly know it's whereever you carry it (I have a really nice little sholder hoster for the Beretta!
I wear it atop my fishing vest or T shirt when airgunning or fishing, so it's really not a hide-out that way but you have a lot less hassle explaining it to F&G Officers and they openly see that you are armed.

Here is my hideout gun. It is a cutdown .36 cal Uberti 1862 Pocket Police. I do not know why the barrel was cut down as I bought it this way. I have always thought a gun like this to be a perfect hideout gun in the time because it has more power than Colts .32 cal Baby Dragoon(which I have one also) and to be more concealable than a cut down 1860 or Dragoon would be. In the day a lot of people considered a .36 cal round ball to be an excellent man stopper. It is a handy little hideout gun in my opinion.

While at the shooting range yesterday we got into a discussion on how many "Back-Ups", Civil War Calvary carried and some people were flabergashted to know Quantrell demanded his troops carried multiples! If I remember correctlly his orders were 4 revolvers per man?
Ha-Ha, the topic came up right after I had a Cap Jam with my Piettia Police. Someone noticed and said I'd better get a second gun! I am sure this is why it was commom to do carry a second for just that reason, and a hide-out for when circumstances dictated... A hide-out in this sense is a small close range gun.

In an earlier post I chose my cut-down pocket Remmie....good for summer wear. In the winter when outer garments are worn, I go to my 62" Colt Pocket Police w/ a 4.5" bbl.

thanks... my 38 is mechanically sound, but needs a refinish... ( missing alot more nickel ) & wears a set of I frame grips... the grips on the 32 are interesting, as they are 60's laminated grips ( like Gil Scottie or some such ) later I found a guy that had new S&W medallions for sale on Gun Broker... I bought 2-3 sets of them, & added a set to the 32's grips... I really like how they turned out... the shape of them gives me more purchase on the grips & allow me to shoot it better than the smaller original hard rubber grips... the 38's I frame grips already had S&W medallions, & they are slightly bigger yet... both are much more durable than the original hard rubber grips, which I save for collection pieces that I don't shoot that often...

I also have a S&W #1.5 in 32 S&W with a 3" barrel that wears the "red" hard rubber S&W grips, & I also have a 5" barrel #2 that has original MOP grips with S&W medallions in my collection ( actually in my collection, I have somewhere between 24 & 36 pocket revolvers of this era that would be period correct "back up guns"... guns like the old Iver Johnson bicycle snubbies would be just as fitting... I just like my old single action spur triggers
