What's your favorite handgun you own?

Well this is really hard. Like separating your children. The Ruger Blackhawk is 1st because it just oozes the old west. But the Smiths (Model 29 in .44 mag and the 19 in .357 mag) are a very close 2nd and 3rd.

Favorite handgun

My wife and I have 4 handguns together - all S&W. She has her lady smith 9mm which lives in her glove compartment, I have a 659 9mm and two 4516's - a 4516-1 and a 4516-2. I got both grips on the two 4516's changed to Hogue wood grips (I have huge hands) and they fit very comfortably. My 659 has a wrap around pachmayr grip (again, because of my huge hands - large palms and long piano fingers). I have to say I love my 4516-1 the best. I keep the 4516-2 by my bed and the 4516-1 is my carry weapon. It's not any better than the 2 - it's just the one I always have concealed on me. I don't like the 9mm's as much because they have a snappy recoil but I can drop someone easily inside of 25 feet with any of my handguns unless they are moving fast and not directly at or away from me..

My brother owns a HK 45 - a very nice polymer gun. The one thing that kept me from buying one like his instead of my older 4516s is that because the gun is so light and my hands are so big, the kick is harder to manage even though it's a perfect gun for my smaller handed brother.

I'm with Senior on this one.

:D

I am waiting for my current favorite (Nighthawk GRP) to come back from getting a full diamond black coating. But who knows how long I will have it after it gets back. ;)

I like it better than any other pistol I have owned so far (Kimber, Fusion, HK, ...) but I have a woody for a 10mm.

If it's not my favorite.. I usually sell or trade it off to acquire another "favorite". To be honest It'd be hard to pick just one, but if pressed for an answer I'd have to say my Colt Commander that's been bobtailed/checkered and triggered, then there's my Kahrs.. then my Glocks... then.. then... Oh hell I hate these type threads... :D

Hard to chose. Maybe this

Probably this Smith 29,

Or perhaps the Ruger 45, or,...I'm growing to like the Smith 24. Need to get more loads made up and shoot it more.

I don't have a favorite. Each and every one has its job. Each has a niche to fill, some more than 1. Each does its job well or it goes by the wayside.

Not sure I could spend days thinking on this question and not come up with an answer, however I think the most favorite gun is the one you have not bought yet.
