Whats the biggest hunk of junk you ever filled out a 4473 for?

lets stop the Taurus bashing. I own a PT 24/7 G2 9mm along with alot of other guns. the g2 is one of my favorites 2000+ rounds and not a single issue.

What bashing? I owned a few Taurus revolvers and they all had their problems. All but one had poor fit and finish and two had cylinders that completely locked up during my first range sessions. Over priced junk, yeah that's the worst I've owned.

Kel-Tec P-32
Star Firestar .40
Colt Gov't Pocketlite .380
Auto-Ordnance 1911

I've never had any issues with my Taurus 445 .44 Special or Model 44 .44 Mag revolvers [albeit they were manufactured in 1995 and 1996..]

My very first handgun was a worn out RG 22LR from 24 years ago. I wouldn't give a dime for a as new in the box one today. Many times you do get what you pay for.

I also own a Jimenez JA-22 that is a complete POS but it is fun to shoot. I would never use it for self defense, only for shooting targets. Well if I had a rock or the JA-22 i'd use it then I suppose.

Never owned a bad gun, but my friend has a GSG-522, I normally have at least 1 jam per magazine with it, and it's extremely ammo sensitive, winchester jacketed hollow-point 55-grain is all that really works.

Is it bashing if it actually happened? I'm glad yours works, but should we just not tell the bad?

Taurus anything here as well. Bro and dad had three. Three absolute nightmares.

What is the worst handgun you have owned, currently own, or could own.

Out of the box: Wilson Combat.

Makes it really hard to "like/enjoy" some of the rest of the "stock guns" that I have in the safe. (Really good gunsmiths are truly valuable!)

Kind of like putting a Jewell trigger into a rifle; can't go back!

It is that whole concept of, "Some things can't be unseen."

When a single individual lists several POJs, you begin to wonder if its the firearms or the owner.

Or, someone who is very, very unlucky.

In any case, I've never bought a real clunker. The closest might be a Springfield Loaded Champion. Not a bad gun, but my other 1911s, including my Kimber CPD Ultra, were quite a bit more accurate for me.

My grandpa used to have a Jennings J25 (then my dad inherited it, lucky guy ;)). It jammed about every other shot, and it was so inaccurate, you always worried that the bullets just might boomerang back around and hit you. Complete junk. Anyone who says Taurus is junk has never handled a Jennings :)

Kimber Ultra Carry II

for me it's my SR9C
I had four light strikes in the first 25 rounds and has shot about 1000 flawless rounds since.

my XDM45 compact, my XDM9 and my XDM45 (which I traded for the XDM9) have all been 100% flawless from day one.

I guess this may not meet the criteria you were looking for but dernit...that's the truth :D

I'm with Big P----the worst pistol I have ever owned is a Colt Series 70 Gold Cup. Beautiful pistol, extremely accurate, when it would run, but keeping it running, well--------------I also had a S&W .44M that would lock up at times. BOTH are gone now and good riddence.
I have been very lucky as, with the exception of those two, all of my firearms have been keepers.

Taurus didn't do too well in this thread! Never owned one, but I did rent a .357 Taurus revolver at the range. Had to take it back up to the counter when the cylinder fell off. I guess a screw that holds it on the gun worked its way out.

Worst gun I ever bought was a Walther PPK/s, a recent production Smith and Wesson one. Had to send it back to S&W on day 2 of ownership. 9 short weeks later I had it back. The new slide they put on it must have been beat on with a brick. The rails were all scratched up. Sold it for a huge loss, the buyer wanted to lower the price nether $20 after seeing the rails.

Haven't found one yet! But I have been trying.
Attempt #1.
Heritage Rough Rider. Bought it on a whim, but had been wanting a "cowboy" 22. Great little shooter, Accurate, and fun to shoot. As long as I remember that stupid safety opposite the loading gate! Still wouldn't say it's a POS.

Attempt #2
Bought a Taurus Judge Public Defender Poly on a whim also. And because it was the first one I saw plus a great price. I've found it to be reliable, and accurate with 45 Colt. Also reliable, and accurate with the new handgun specific buckshot loads holding a tight pattern of 2-3 inches, and point of aim accuracy at normal SD distance of 10 yds. In addition it holds a snake proof pattern with #7 1/2 shot out to 10-15 feet for the perfect snake protection.

Attempt #3
Bought a Hi-Point C9 just to see how bad they really are, and found out that are not bad at all. 100% reliable function, and one of the most accurate out of the box 9MM's I've shot.

I guess my next attempt will be a Taurus 922 22 LR/ 22 Mag convertible. Or maybe a PT22 Poly just 'cause they're "cute"
Unless of course the KAHR Arms CM9 I won the bid on at the NRA Foundation Banquet Auction turns out to be one!
