What's missing from my collection?

You need a J Frame 38 Special. The choice is yours but you are not a complete pistolero without one. Buy it, get the old style S&W wood grips and a Tyler adapter and you will be allowed to enter Pistolero Heaven. As the Cajon Cook used to say: "I guarantee it." Regards, Richard.

I'm with the SA revolver crowd - a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Magnum, or a Colt SAA or clone in .45 or .44-40. How about going for another "classic"; Luger? Broomhandle?

Couldn't go wrong with a J frame, Colt DS is a good one in .38. A Ruger Mk.II would be agood addition. And nothing wrong with adding a few long guns, M1 carbine, Ruger Mini, A good pump gun would work.
I just added a cut down double barrel to my collection and I just recieved a surplus E. German Makarov.
Whatever you have an eye for and your wallet can afford it :)

Happy Shooting :)

THANKS for all of the advice. I forgot to post that I already had a .25 Colt 1908 in mint condition (complete with Mother of Pearl handles), so I appreciate those that at least mentioned this little popgun caliber.

For those that mentioned long guns, I just posted my handguns. I've also got a Remington 700 in .270 Win, a Marlin 1894cs in .357mag, a Winchester 9422M in .22mag, and a Springfield bolt action in .22LR. As shotguns go, I've got a Wingmaster 12 ga. pump.

With all of the advice I couldn't make up my mind, so I went out and bought one handgun and put a downpayment on another. Following the cowboy theme, I bought a Ruger Bisley-Vaquero in .45 Long Colt in the antique finish (and I also sent in my SASS apoplication today as well). What a great feeling gun.

Following the advice on improving my bigbore collection, I put a down payment on a S&W 629 in .44magnum. Call me Harry Calahan. Make that 'Dirty Harry' Calahan, punk...

Thanks again!

Two very good choices. I'm sure your going to be pleased. I have a Smith 629 and am very happy with it. Shot very accurate right out of the box. On the Ruger I've been thinking about adding one of those to my collection also.
Good luck with your new purchases and
Happy Shooting :)

Hey Grem; How about a Smith & Wesson N frame
of some sort? One of those in say .41 Magnum
or .44 Magnum would make for a good shooter;
and conversation piece!!! :)

Best Wishes,

A .22 semi-auto will improve your shooting dramatically. My beretta 87 has made me a much better shot than I was before it. Do check out the Beretta 87 to improve the DA/SA performance. CZ also make the Kadet .22 which looks promising.

Your next two guns have to be a .44 mag and a .357 Sig. I cut my teeth on a model 29 S&W 44 mag and I have a Glock .357 Sig and it is fun for me to shoot. For long guns if you are just using for home protection try a AR-15 for a assault rifle and a Remington model 870 12 ga. shotgun with some home defense modifications.Maybe also a .41 magnum to go along with the others. These would be EXCELLENT additions to your collection

Well,
Didnt read all the way down untill i posted my reply. Way to go with the .44 mag. Now all you need are a good .357 SIG and a .41 mag and you would be pretty much covered.
For now.

You are terribly remiss in not owning a 625 Smith and wesson, which is a stainless N frame .45acp revolver, that takes moon clips. Next you need a reliable deep cover pistol and I own probably a dozen or so J frames, Colts, AMT Backs up, Berettas etc. But right now the love of my life is my new Kel-Tec P-32. This is the gun you take with you when you go unarmed, like to church etc. It weighs 6.6 ounces empty. Get a good pocket holster to carry it in, to break up the outline and you are good to go. When you get these two guns come back and we will help you build up your collection. Also remember you never build a gun collection by trading one in, on a new one, use only cash to get new guns...7th ;)

Sounds like you are getting close to having the Full Monty! Still, I think the guys that mentioned the Ruger .22 auto hit the nail on the head AND DROVE IT HOME! That's alot of bang for the buck!
