What's in your pocket? - Pocket holster thread

I use both a Nemesis and a Mika's for my PM-9, both work as advertised and neither comes out with the gun. Drawing from a pocket is a lot different from a holster and should be practiced frequently -- I do at least a dozen draws each day from whatever holster I'm using before I go out into the world. Yes, yes, the gun's unloaded ... Recently got an NAA Pug and am waiting for a non-rainy day to take it to the range; expecting an NAA pocket holster in the mail and will probably use it for dog walks or sitting in the yard reading ... I love pocket carry and it's almost a requirement here in Texas, where the summer seems to last from Apr 1 to Nov. 1.

Made my own out of an old pair of boots. I like the pocket holster concept, but I can't see paying $30 plus shipping for two pieces of leather sewn together.

I kinda wish I'd gone the boot-leather route. I got this fancy-schmancy Don Hume, but it's so tight I have to use both hands to pull the holster off. The first time I put the gun in it, I was honestly scared I'd have to cut the gun out.

Get that puppy soaking wet, then put a dowel rod or a piece of wood a little bit wider than your slide in it and let it dry, that'll loosen it up. Just don't go way oversize or you'll end up with more of a sack than a holster.

Harq. I have that problem with many new leather holsters, pocket and belt types. I soak the inside of the leather down with silicone spray thoroughly, start the muzzle of the empty gun into the holster and twist it back and forth while sliding it in. I repeat this action until I get the desired looseness, where the gun glides out of the holster and the holster remains in the pocket. You can leave the gun in the holster while the silicone moisture evaporates/drys. I've used this method on over a hundred holsters for myself, friends and family with no problem.

I carry an NAA Guardian (.32ACP) in a custom leather pocket holster made by a friend of mine. This one has a pouch for a spare magazine integral to the holster. It is also more bare bones than some to make the package thinner.

Having tried various Pocket Holsters over the years, been carrying in the front pocket for long enough to forget how long, and with over twenty years of gun carrying under my belt, I use a Mika Round Cut in my Front Pocket with either a J-Frame or a Glcok 26.

I've tried the rest, now I'm back to using the best.
