What’s happening at X-Treme Bullets?

Gentlemen,
This may be an old subject, but what is happening at X-Treme Bullets? I just went to their website and noticed their inventory of plated pistol bullets is near zero. I hope this is not a signal of them going out of business as I have been using X-Treme Bullets for years. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Thank you in advance.

I guess I’m not seeing what you’re seeing. I checked 9mm and .45 and the only things I see out of stock or low on stock are their bullets/brass combo kits and clearance items. What are you seeing that’s low on stock? I just got an email from them today announcing the start of their Halloween sale.

I don't see anything strange. Nor have I heard anything.

It's always possible, however, that they encountered some staffing issues.
Former employees have claimed that no one likes working for them, but they've run through most of the unskilled labor in the area. The well is running dry.

There was a thread going around a couple months ago on one of the forums. An order was placed and after 2 weeks it still hadn't shipped. Order was canceled after they couldn't or wouldn't provide a ship date. Never heard any more.

I believe it is a sign of success. I walked into cabela's the other day and that's all they had in stock was x-treme and hornady for rifle. I mean they probably had 15 boxes of 500 45 acp boxes on the shelf.

KMW1954, I believe I was the one who started the thread about my eventual cancelled order. Given the question raised on this post, I just wonder if they are moving away from selling directly from their website. Cabela's is 4 miles from my home and they have a large X-Treme bullet inventory; maybe some kind of deal was developed so Cabela/Bass Pro retail sales wouldn't compete with internet.....?

cdoc, see I was paying attention!

Could be but as of yet I don't see BPS carrying any Xtreme products. Would be nice though as BPS is closer to me than Cabela's. Also wish BPS would match the inventory of Berry's and price match.

Well, I don’t know what happened last evening, but this morning the website shows plenty of inventory. I will call them when they open and add on to the order I created.

Thanks for your responses.

Business growing pains

When a business starts growing at an unanticipated rate, they outgrow many of their operating systems. Areas such as order entry, inventory management, and especially IT will hiccup from time to time.

Oops! Bad me. The nice lady at X-Treme Bullets said I ordered off the clearance page of their site. I thought it was their regular order page. Duh.

Sorry, guys.

I agree.

And at the risk of repeating myself and to ensure nobody just glancing at this thread gets the mistaken impression that Xtreme 1) is going out of business, 2) is moving away from selling directly to shooters, or 3) is suffering systemic problems, it should be noted that the problematic order was placed around the time that Hurricanes had just battered South Texas and Florida leading to UPS, FedEx and the Post Office having to suspend deliveries to those areas. The result was that for a few weeks shippers were not picking up orders bound for areas they could not deliver to and inventory piled up on a lot of companies' loading docks - not just bullet sellers.

Things have since returned to a more normal situation in both Texas and Florida so if you order from Xtreme bullets' normal inventory pages, I expect you will experience the kind of service they have historically delivered - at least that's what I've seen lately.

I have ordered from Xtreme, freedom munitions, and reload valley which are all part of the same parent company. They all take generally1-3 weeks to ship orders and when shipped it take about week to get to my place. Good products just can’t be in a rush to get it.

So, there is nothing to what FrankenMauser posted?

I tried 2,000 bullets, didn't like them, WAY off specification, so I tried their customer service... Let's just say their customer service is pretty well non-existent...

My experience has been just the opposite, in both aspects.

Odd. I have bought three different calibers, and two different weights in 9 mm, and found all of them to be quite consistent. I have thus had no experience with their customer service relative to complaints or returns. They always ship pretty promptly, though. They are a favorite of mine, actually. Sorry your experience with them was so poor, but if I were you I might give them another chance - it wasn't the norm for my experience with them.
