I noticed that many of you chose a weapon based primarily on the need for concealed carry. What about hunting and taget shooting? If you only had one gun, could you really hunt with a 9mm loaded with hollowpoints?

If I could only have one, I would still keep my Ruger MKII Slabside. It is great fun to shoot. With the 2x scope it could also be used for small game. I'm still sampling different kinds of bullets - it seems to feed just about everything. If I only could keep one, it would have to be a .22 they are just too fun and cheap to shoot!

My most accurate and dependable East German Makarov with Norinco FMJ!

Small enough to conceal. Powerful enough for me. It is my favorite target pistol. And I have hunted with it and will continue to (groundhogs and crows are the only legal pistol game here and they are both tasty!)

He said only one handgun. So I can still use my shotguns and rifles for hunting. Which is the better choice.

One gun one round.

Much as I have loved the 1911 (carried them for 26 years) since you didn't say anything about having a gunsmith living in the spare bedroom guess I'd have to go with the damn Glock 21. they're ugly and the trigger sucks but they work and don't hardly break. When they do, parts plug in with no fitting.
HydraShoks would be the first choice, but if you said I had to use only milspec Ball I'd live with it.
