As for rail guns, all you said is technically correct, but unless this new super iron battery the Israelis developed is years ahead of the competition, we don't have a power source to do what you expect of them.
 
Distance, accuracy and the ability to more quickly target and engage multiple bogies.


If you’re not out of range of my old tech rifles and not any faster or accurate then my current stuff in engaging targets then your advance is moot because I can still ruin your day.


Target acquisition technology (I can see you in the dark, in the bush behind that rock kinda stuff), locking a target (or targets) and smart (tracking) projectiles are the next leap for the infantryman.
