What was the WORST day in firearms history?

May 15th, 1939: the Supreme Court issued its decision in United States v. Miller, upholding a blatantly unconstitutional Roosevelt tax collection measure. The decision was as terse as it was incoherent, both factors being due to the fact that it was hastily authored by a lazy Justice behind on his quota.

The resulting decision would cement the idea that the 2nd Amendment was somehow a "collective" right, tied only to service in a state-run militia, and sometimes not even then. Furthermore, it would serve as ammunition in countless briefs and cases affirming restrictions on the 2nd Amendment.

What was the WORST day in firearms history?

it IS the National Firearms Act of 1934

Then-NRA President Karl T. Frederick Having helped enact gun control legislation was a matter of pride for NRA's president.

MR. FREDERICK: ... "I have never believed in the general practice of carrying weapons. I seldom carry one. ... I do not believe in the general promiscuous toting of guns. I think it should be sharply restricted and only under licenses"

this blatant act of gun control led to any and all other anti gun laws enacted since that day of "Infamy" June 26, 1934,

Please be specific...

Karl T. Frederick, is the main reason i do NOT like the NRA, the NRA has been on the side of the anti-gun groups, my final dispute with the NRA happened at the NRA convention in San Diego Calif. 1976AD when Neal Knox made his presentation and walked out and away from the NRA, myself and many other NRA members walked with him.

The NFA34...I agree on the assesment of the NRA...they fostered general gun control...and now that it is politically expedient...they try to say they never backed gun control. I will never be a member of that organization.

The '89 Import Ban. That has not gone away. And, while you can still buy machineguns, you can't buy a large number of current production foreign made guns.
