Yeah, that is 'dismaying', about Jefferson - who'da thunk a south LA politician corrupt?

I'd say Nagin getting re-elected IS enough to pull for another hurricane, provided that the smart ones have enough time to relocate and sell their real estate. Probably won't have to 'pull' much, from the looks of the global warming/increased hurricanes trend - just a matter of time. What's he elected for, 1, 2, or 4 years?

You know that there are good and innocent people mixed in there that will suffer as well. The loss of life and irreplacable, cherished belongings should always be mourned. Many cities are already feeling the "effects" of the hurricane refugees. Few hurricanes strike only one isolated location. Think of the neighboring areas. The federal government still has to pay for the cleanup and rescue efforts, putting us an even greater defecit. On a more personal note, each catastrophic storm raises the cost of insurance for everyone who needs wind storm and flood insurance. Last year's hurricanes drove up the cost of electricity from FPL since so many power lines were downed.

I HOPE THOSE ARE ENOUGH REASONS NOT TO MAKE ANY MORE STUPID COMMENTS SUCH AS PULLING FOR ANOTHER HURRICANE.
 
I'm hearing reports that Nagan is a semi-conservative liberal democrat :rolleyes: compared to Landrieu, who is apparently a liberal liberal democrat.

What a mess, though. If Nagan is the best they can get, well, I'm sorry for that. :(

NPR reported this morning that Nagin received the majority of both the 'black' vote and the 'white' vote. However, the transcript is not up on their website at this time, so I don't have anything to which to link.

+1 stephen426. People who wish that level of ill on others simply because of their political persuasions really need to take a step back and examine their rhetoric, because that is pretty sad if they mean it. People are people, but some people seem to forget this. :mad:
