What style of gun is best for you

For me, I shoot my Ruger 22/45 best! Not surprising really.

And I shoot the Ruger P95 and my S&W Model 10 4incher equally well as long as I'm doing the 10 in SA. Although I am getting better with the Smith in DA....gotta say, I just love that buttery smooth trigger.

I am finding out getting older small revolvers like Ruger sp101,autos SW MP C .Work the best for all intended uses.

Short barreled revolvers are what I tend to shoot the most lately.
All though I do like my autos also, just don't shoot them as much.

Generallly, I shoot revolvers better than autos. As for barrel length, as long as the trigger is smooth and the grip frame is comfortable, I shoot varying barrel lengths about the same.

In general for me the SIG P229 in 9mm seems to be a very good firearm. The size, function, capacity and performance of this gun cover the most applications for me. So, I would assume other similar firearms might also meet my needs and thus be my preferred style.

I'm lights out accurate with either the Taurus or Beretta 92--I just find that the gun fits my hand like a glove. Close second would be my 1911's either in .45 ACP or .22lr (again, it's hard not to shoot well with JMB's ingenious platform).

-Cheers

In General I prefer mid to full size single stack 9mms.

Walther P38
Walter P5
SIG/sauer P6/P220
HK P7
S&W 3904/3913

There are a few others I like

Walther P99
FN Hi-power
Browning BDM
1911 A-1

Rate of fire

Rapid fire I shoot autos much better. Slow fire I tend to shoot revolvers better. My autos include a 5" 1911, a Taurus PT92 (5") and a Ruger P95. The revolvers are 4" 357mag, a 2.25" Ruger SP101, and a S&W 642. My accuracy may have something to do with the recoil of the particular gun and the rate of fire.

I tend to do best with single action revolvers with light loads. I find I shoot better with a little recoil... but dont go all crazy with the recoil.

I would have to say I'm better with a 3" revolver like a Ruger SP101 357. Most of the time I'm shooting 38's out of it.
