What Style Of Gripping/Shooting do you Use?

Also MW but I do practice with Isoceles too since you are just as likely to need to shoot that way in an SD situation so you will be comfortable with either. MUCH better shot with the Modified Weaver for me BTW.

The part that's radical about my shooting is that I focus on the target, not on the front sight.

I have started doing this myself at 10 yards and less. It works great. But as far as stance I really dont have a stance anymore. I use to be Modified Weaver, but now I practice more while moving, 2 handed, strong arm and weak arm than I do standing still in a stance.

Modified weaver. I'm pretty good firing off-hand or with other traditional stances, but the modified weaver (RIP, God bless) was drilled into me when I was a Jarhead. It's still what I use today.

Visit your local USPSA club and go see how the absolute best group of shooters in the world hold their guns.
Really depends on your individual needs. What's best for one is not necessarily best for all, no matter how good they are. Different needs, different stances. How a competitive autopistol shooter holds his mousefart-dribbling automatic is of no consequence if you're shooting a heavy recoiling sixgun. Try to muscle against the .44Mag and above with an isosceles stance and it's gonna hurt.

I used to use a two handed grip (think it's called the modified Weaver???). Now, I've been concentrating on one handed because I feel that it's more practical.

I shoot in a modified Weaver, dominant arm straight. I couldn't tell you how exactly my support hand is placed around the gun, I leave it where it goes naturally (minding the slide or cylinder gap, of course). The only conscious consideration I make with my weak hand is my index finger is extended and on the front of the trigger guard, I feel it gives a little more lateral control and leverage.

I am showing in this pic how I hold my guns.I keep my right hand and triggerfinger loose while applying pressure with my left smallest 3 digits to counteract the trigger pull.Do you think there is enough room in my grip to hold an auto this way?

ninjatoth: if you can find a way to get your off-hand fingers higher up, contacting (hard) the bottom of the triggerguard, the results will be more stable.

You're not quite "cupping" with this hold but you're coming close.

I also use a modified weaver. I had/have the same problem transitioning from long guns to handguns. Also, if the gun pictured is what you are doing all your shooting with, don't be discouraged. The snub revolvers are notoriously difficult to shoot well.
