296Ti .44 Special. Usually loaded with Federal 200gr LSWC-HP's, but has Silvertips in it right now because... well, just because. :o

9mm in revolver

I voted for a 9mm snubbie. I am searching for the Holy Grail, a Ruger Speed Six in 9mm fed with full moon clips. Hard to find. I want one bad!!!

I own 9mm semi-auto so the 9mm revolver justifies more bulk ammo purchases. Hot 24-grain 9mm loads are supposed to have good power out of a revolver with less recoil than .357 Mag.

For concealed carry, snubbies make a whole lot of sense: simple, reliable, safe, easy to conceal.

I am getting another sp101 to keep my 3 incher company. The new one has a 2.25 barrel and no hammer spur. I expect if ohio passes ccw it will be the always pocket gun.

I run 357mag in it and vary what is in it since legally no carry here so it is for around my place target practice.

3 inch Model 65 K frame with 125gr. Remington Med. Velocity

or a 638 Airweight Bodyguard with 158gr. lead hollow point +P

Another "exotic" 9mm fan!

I have a Smith airweight J frame model 37 in nickel that I got fitted with a 9mm cylinder. (A Model 937?) Don't shoot it much with that cylinder, and light loads at that. For practice I'll normally stick the .38 cylinder back in. If I wanna do lotsa revo practice I go to the 3" mod. 66 or 4" 625 Mtn Gun. Herr Jaegermeister, good luck on the 9mm Ruger, the 2.75" ones are not common, the 4" are about mythical. There's one that I've seen, at the NRA Museum in Va. Most of the 4 inchers apparently went overseas to fill a contract, and they never made it back here--yet, anyhow, keep your fingers crossed! And when you see any of them on the auction sites, the sellers must think that IDPA folks will go nutz, and price them accordingly. I've seen two of the 2 3/4 " ones list for something like $700-$800. Of course they didn't sell, and I'm not sure I'd try to strike ANY kind of deal with a seller like that!

On belt is now is a S&W Model 24 3" 44sp. with Speer 200gr GoldDot. In pocket is a S&W 642 with CorBon 125 gr+p.

S&W Model 10, 2" barrel, Round Butt with S&W smooth rosewood grips, loaded with Speer Gold Dot HP 125 grn +P, carried in a Don Hume H720 paddle holster. I have grown fond of this combination; the Gold Dot is amazingly accurate out of the short barrel. NG Bruce

Other "little" guns....
Sometimes carry .32 S&W long in 1903 hand ejector or a .32 Short Colt in an equally old little feller.

Colt Det. Special or Colt Cobra depending on how I carry, both normally loaded from my own stash of Nyclads. Both guns wear original wood grips w/Tyler T Grip inserts for a great grip. Makes for a nice neat carry package.

:D

A S&W 640-1 is almost an always gun. Otherwise it's a handy 3" M65LS. Both loaded with .357 125 gr GD's.

We have an '80's production Dick Special that is sweet (Win 158 LSWCHP's +P), but this is an "always in the same place house gun."

I carried a 649 loaded with standard pressure Silvertips for many years.

Last year, I bought an SP101 2" and it's sort of taken over CCW duties. It's loaded with .38 +P Gold Dot, with a Bianchi Speed Strip loaded with Winchester white box .357 110-grain JHP.

Touching off a .357 round in that little gun is definitely an awe-inspiring experience! It parts your hair and and makes your face go all floppy like in those old movies of astronauts receiving G-force training!!! Big ole fireball out the end of the barrel. It's fun, but recovery, at least for me, is pretty slow, so the +P's are the primary load, with the mags for reload.
