Okay, we all know that the cult of the snubby grows daily, and the .357 vs .38+p debate goes on. SO what do you carry around? FWIW, I've chosen a very cute little Taurus 650 loaded with .357.
Gotta admit it. I like the .32 H&R Magnum, S&W model 331 a lot. Plenty strong and holds six rounds. 11.9 ounce revolver, but fairly light recoil. (Easy on the arthritis.) I wore my Glock 27 all day yesterday, but when I got up this morning, I put on my jeans and the J-frame, .32 mag. I also have the Taurus 731, .32 mag and I like it too. (Built especially for me at the Taurus factory. [Hey, I KNOW people!] VERY light trigger and everything ELSE is just perfect.) I'll probably end up buying a 332 centennial model too. (I think I might be getting kind of old to keep buying firearms, but I just can't stop.)
Either a .357 Magnum (SP101 or S&W), loaded with .357 Magnum 125gr. JHP if it's a "full-weight" gun or with .38 Special 158gr. LSWCHP +P if it's a lightweight; or, if the mood so takes me and I'm dressed to be able to conceal it, a Taurus or Charter Arms .44 Special snubnose, loaded with Cor-Bon 180gr. JHP. (The latter kicks like a mule in the lightweight Charter, but is relatively soft-shooting in the full-weight Taurus.)
Ideally, I should have bought a .357 snubbie, but I do love my Taurus .38. Its a great little gun, and has surprisingly light recoil even with +P's...great for follow up shots, shooting one handed, or shooting in other-than-optimal shooting position. My other carry gun isn't quite a snubbie, but almost, with a 2 3/4" barrel. It shoots .357's, but is a little bigger framed and heavier then the Taurus Mod 85.
Really love the LadySmith 2.125" Mod 60 357
loaded with 125gr +P Federal HPs. Particularly
sitting in the Galco Cover Six Cross Draw holster
makes a nice all the time carry. The smoothness and lightness of the action rivals anything from
the Performance Shop. Could stroke this Lady all day.
