What should I get?! Open to ALL suggestions

I see others saying a 19, so if you're considering a 19, I MUST recommend a CZ PCR D or P-01. Same size as a 19, but IMO, a better all-round gun. I've had both. My daughter shoots the snot out of the PCR so I let her take it when she moved recently. Shot it MUCH better than the Shield. A word of caution, though. If you buy one CZ, you're gonna buy another. They are that good.

IMHO, you can't go wrong with either M&P full size or Glock 17/19 (9MM are cheaper to plank).
M&P has one of the best ergonomic and its reliability has been tested by many LE agencies. Plenty of the aftermarket parts available, as well as, gunsmiths that are able to work on that.
That being said, I do think Glock is more accurate out of the box but I am not a big fan of the brick like grip. Glock probably has the most accessible aftermarket services.
On the side note, Ruger SR9 or Sig P250 are good choices as well. Affordable, reliable, and ready to go out of the box. (Disclaimer: Always run some rounds through you carry weapon). :)

Be Patient

I have recently owned a Sig 2022 and would highly recommend it. Minor point, I didn't like the take down, so I let it go for a Beretta PX4 Compact. I have also owned the full size PX4 Storm. Both are great shooting guns, both are quality, and you can buy either in the high $400's to low 600's depending upon where you look. If you are looking toward the future I would favor the PX4 Compact, because it's a good carry gun, when you're old enough, and it shoots as big as the full size PX4 Storm, with a 15 round mag.

These types of posts are always fun because they allow all of us experts to tout our favorites. I don't think many of us take our recommendation seriously. I don't ever remember anyone letting me know they took my advice, and bought the gun I recommended. On the other hand, the chances of you purchasing your current choice is well over 90%. The suggestion that you try various guns is your best bet for now. I've purchased guns that I thought were beautiful, and "had to have" only to have it beat the crap out of my hand after range use.

So, whatever fits your hand, your style of shooting, and your bankroll is what you should be looking for. I find the relationship between a mans gun hand, and his gun to be very personal, and one size does not always fit all. Good luck & good Shooting & don't let that $500 burn a hole in your pocket.
