what rifle in movie "Behind Enemy lines"?

Halffast,

If savage308 hasn't even finished his primary education, is it really germane or polite to criticise his "R's" when the majority of ADULTS on this board hardly set the example? Maybe he just didn't want to stand out in this sea of slaugtered English?

No wonder so many kids label "adults" as hypocrits. Pick on someone in your own tax bracket.

I'm personally pleased to hear a young man express his views and give perspective on his peers.

I would be even more pleased if you refrained from expressing anymore of your views on your fellow TFL members.

Handy,

While I appreciate your view, if you will re-read my post, you will find no criticism of Savagehunter 308 in it. My wry remarks were aimed squarely at the so-called public school system. I am not picking on anyone in or out of my tax bracket. I am being critical of those that take (steal?) those taxes and then squander them.

You are right in the fact that many of the adults on this board are gramatically challanged, and I am a terrible speller. That is why I keep a dictionary next to my computer. I still make spelling and gramatical mistakes, but I proof read all of my posts before I submit them, and I catch most (I hope) of my errors. All that anyone on this board has to judge me by is my use of the written language. I want to make a good impression with my posts.

We talk about the erosion of our second ammendment rights and wonder what to do about it while our children are not being educated how to make an informed opinion of their own. Instead of consentrating on the 3 R's, many schools teach the kid's what their opinion should be. What opinion do you think most teachers are giving our kids when it comes to firearms?

If I offended you, Savagehunter 308, or anyone else, then I apologize. That was not my intent. My intent was to show that when it comes to government schools (or anything else government has their hand in) we are not getting what we are paying for.

A point to remember, guys, is that we are stuck with only the typed word. No facial expressions or body language.

That's the why of "Think twice, post once." It's also a reason to mull over what you read and not be quick to get ruffled tailfeathers. The guy who posted may not be all that wonderful at getting his intended meaning across, and may well not have intended any insult.

Two-way streets, okay?

David-

You'll find that most people will be offended when they're QUOTED as examples of stupidity or lack of education. I guess they're too touchy. Probably liberals to blame.

I grew up in the great Liberal state of Wisconsin where high tax dollars were "wasted" on roads, public services and education. I took college level courses in high school. WI's SAT and ACT scores are some of the highest in the nation. WI produces more Naval Academy Appointees than most any other state. WI's Public University system is one of the best as well.

I don't know who these "liberal" educators were; none of my teachers ever brought up anything but the topic they taught. (Is evolution a "liberal" agenda?) The one teacher who did have an agenda was an ardent Christian who seemed to confuse some of her English literary interpretation with Bible study.

If poor education and illiteract is a liberal thing, places like Louisiana and Mississippi must be the most liberal places in the US.

I apologize to everyone in turning this topic upside down, but we shouldn't have to put up with put downs, no matter how "important" the insulter's agenda.

Not all SAMs fly at Mach 3+

There are some that fly at lower speeds, yet still no chance of the scene taking so long. An F-18 cannot fly faster that Mach 1 or so at that altitue I should think, and even if it could, the pilots would die from the excess of gs needed in the turns....
