What rifle do you dream about shooting/owning

To many to mention but if only one gun than it wouldd have to be on the lines of a Holland and Holland .500 cased double rifle but I could settle for a .450.

Or a Wesley, or a Dickson or a Evans, or a Rigby or a.....I really want a double rifle. Don't ask me why, I just do.

Pretty much every rifle made,,,

I love belonging to a rifle & pistol club,,,
Especially one where the members are so friendly.

I offer a cylinder or so of any handgun I own,,,
If someone will allow me to shoot a rifle I've never fired before.

I don't want to own many rifles,,,
I just want to be able to say I've fired one.

Especially exotics like double-rifles.

KenL, try looking at some of the CZ 527 models in .223, they'll surprise you.

What one rifle I really want but can't get? Easy - KelTec RFB. Super expensive vaporware so far, but it's everything I want in a battle rifle. Maybe I'll get to handle one before I die.;) I can't dream of shooting it, much less owning it...

For those who mention the B A R (1918) or the modern clone semi-auto's...

I was selected to qualify on the BAR in Basic training at Ft Ord in 1960. I managed to do that after a 'BOLO' session or two. I was a 17 yr old smart-ass who thought he knew everything at that time. I think I was 'selected' to qualify so that I would have to hump that heavy SOB around with another heavy bag of Mags for it too. At the time I really didn't appreciate that rifle, but I sure do now.

I would almost pay the $4000 for one of the new clone semi-auto's from Ohio Ordnance just to get a second chance to send A LOT of 30-06 down range.

Join me on a magical trip to BS Mountain, where I have all the money in the world and things like tax stamps and wait times don't exist...

To sum it up, machine guns. Specifically, WWII-era machine guns.

The BAR
The Browning Machine Gun
MG42
MP40 (sub-machine gun, still counts!)
PPSH-41
Thompson

Let's throw owning an M60 in there and that completes the dream, for now.

I just came to the realization that it's not just a "long list" that I decided to cut short, it's just every one ever made. I don't think there is one I wouldn't want to shoot.

So to keep the "BS Mountain" theme going lol, I'm going to take one of everything made, perhaps two, just in case I need parts. :)

Desert Tactical Arms HTI rifle.

If we're dreaming then I'd make it 50 BMG even though it's not civilian legal where I live and I'd probably loose my shoulder socket after the first shot!!!!

5. HK 770 .308

I had to edit myself quite a bit to have such a short list. :o

lets see here:
Sig 551A1
PTR-32, or PTR-91
Knights Armament AR-10
LMT 308MWS i think its called
Remington 700 Police in .308 with a Bell and Carlson medalist stock and a S&B PMII scope.

Don't remember who made it, but Cabella's has 2 used side by side 45-70s for sale. They are $3000 each. I want one.
A pistol gripped .357 mag/20 gauge Savage is another I'd like.
Maybe one day a Thompson.
