Tmoney, I read the Bourne Identity and enjoyed it, but Ludlum's colossal ignorance of firearms and lore just started ruining him for me. He should stick to what he knows.

Finished Starship Troopers again for the umptheenth time. Slowly working my way through King Leopold's Ghost which I reccommend if you're interested in the "fun" of colonial Africa. It's also an interesting example of what happens to people who haven't the means to resist, if you get my drift.

Reality and History are more interesting than fiction. So I read humor when reading novels. Just finished "Confederacy of Dunces". An extremely funny book.

Right now I am reading The Battle of Cowpens by .... Damn I forgot his name!

Oh well - it is a pretty good book.

"As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression.
In both instances there is a twilight when everything remains
seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all
must be most aware of change in the air - however slight -
lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness."
--Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas

Just finished a great novel by John Ross: "Unintended Consequences". I'd highly recommend reading it if you can find a copy. I understand the government is trying to discourage sales of this book. All the more reason to get a copy and pass it around to your friends.

Got laid off last week. So have been taking a break to finish shop, organize stuff (guns & knives) consolidate storage. Have been going though 30+ years of SF/MIL/Ftsy books. Just got through re-reading all Of L'more's Sackets books, All of W.E.B. Griffins Brotherhood of war, The Steve Perry Matador series, The arms of Krupp by William Manchester, The devils Secret name by Jim Morris, The Damed Die Hard by Hugh McLeave,

There are over 900 more books that I will probably re-read in the next year. I normally only sleep about four hours a night and don't watch much TV.

One of many reasons to own paper books. Try sticking a 10-30 year old VCR tape in your player and see what happens.

Cheers,

ts

Great responses, folks.

I've heard much about Unintended Consequences--enough that I'd like to read it if only I could come across a copy.

Mr. Moderator, I know this one's gotten beefy on the posts, so I'll go ahead and post part II.

Thanks again, folks.
