What is your favorite shotgun?

Benelli M1S90 12 gauge for Waterfowl
Benelli M1S90 20 for Upland birds
FN SLP Mark I for home defense with LE170 00 Buckshot with Flight Control.

My Maverick 88.

Same thing as the 500, except less expensive and the safety is different.

Ive shot over 15k rounds thru it and its still performing strong.

It takes me 15 seconds to swap out my 18.5 HD barrel for my 28'' accu-choke clay-destructing barrel.

Its just an all-around fantastic shotgun.

p.s. - favorite HD ammo would be 0-000 Sellier & Bellot.

I love the JS stock conversion. Being a 4-gun skeeter, I shoot a lot more .410-bore and 28-ga than 12-ga. After getting acclimated to the little guns, switching back to the 12-ga can be a rude awakening. The air-cushion stock reduces the difference between the big a little guns. I can apply more air pressure as I installer the smaller tubes. I have the same G-Squared air unit in my prime trap gun.

My friend, as you know, a standard Perazzi stock, although structurally good wood, may be a Plain Jane. The Mirage was one of those -- nice wood, but far from breathtaking. JS matched the wood fairly closely then he did his magic: Joe used various stains to artfully apply gain highlights across the new and old wood to make it look like one piece of higher grade wood. My other P-guns have upgraded custom wood and I wouldn't consider sacrificing them to a JS conversion on them.

I have two favorites; my Benelli 121 M1 and an older Ithaca Featherweight 16 ga. The Benelli is just plain fun to shoot and the Ithaca was a breeze to carry all day (back when I hunted regularly)

My 1993 Browning Citori Lightning field 12ga. Well used but still a laser on birds. Got some notion last year that I wanted a semi and traded it for a Winchester SX3 12ga (which I like) but I really miss that field Browning. I have a much newer Browning XS that I use for clays - but it just ain't as 'comfy' as that older Browning and I don't know why!!

Remington 870P. This was standard issue for me when I was in the USMC and also with the State Dept when I was on embassy duty.

That's on MY wish list.............along with the MX20/8 in 28..........anyone have a spare winning lotto ticket they don't need?.........
I agree on the 28 gauge. A couple years after I acquired the MX8 I sold two Winchester 101s (three barrel skeet set and a Diamond Grade 28), a Beretta 682, a Citori Feather XS and a Krieghoff Model 32 and ordered the MX8/20 in 28 gauge. No regrets at all. :)

My dad's 12 gauge, pump, Western Field(never heard of that brand) shotgun. Why do I like it. It works and it's been with him(dad) quite awhile.

Western Field(never heard of that brand)

That's the store brand for Montgomery Ward. Just as with other places they had their brand stamped on guns made by several different gun makers.

I have a Montgomery Ward made by Savage/Stevens. It's a solid gun that still works even though it's about eighty years old.

Buying store brands is a great way to get good guns for less.

Jeez, I can only pick ONE!!?....

Can I mention maybe six? 5 870s for anything but clays and the Beretta O/U for evil little Frizbees......

I no longer own my once favorite shotgun. Sold it many years ago. It was a 16 ga, pump, Chicago Arms. It had a stright stock and a hammer. Don't know what choke it was chamberd in, but it downed many Pheasants in the 1950's

Favorite shotgun. Well, right now.....my favorite hunting gun is an antique. It's an old Parker SXS field gun, a VH. I treat it gently and hunt with RMC brass hulls loaded with SR7625 and 1 1/8oz shot - a very low pressure load that gives me better than 70% at the 30 yards I use for patterning. Our PA grouse rarely allow a shot longer than that.
Now that I've started in on this Trap shooting business, my favorites may change. I've been using a Weatherby (SKB) Orion field gun, 20 ga., and my scores are getting better. Maybe another gun in the offing fairly soon.
