Hey, you just can't leave people hanging with such a vague statement. You need to elaborate on the different platform for night and day use.My choice depends on whether this handgun is used in self-defense during my waking hours or when I'm out cold in the middle of the night.
That's better.Fine PBP, I'll play your little game. I carry a Colt CCO 1911 during the day and I have a Beretta 96G-SD with Surefire X200 on the nightstand at night.
That platform does not seem to be getting much attention.Pre-set DA hybrid - First pull is partially cocked, second can be full DA is gun fails to fire.
Well, there's the... uh... oh, and I could always go... uh... alright, you got me. There's nothing to do here but go out into the desert canyons and shoot. But that is my plan for tomorrow, so I guess I'll entertain your request today. I prefer the 1911 for daytime use because I shoot it well and I like the SAO trigger. At night, since you never get enough practice in waking up and shooting within 2 seconds at the range, I prefer the DA/SA with no safety because the DA pull provides some safety without having to manipulate any other levers to get the gun into action.Playboypenguin said:You are in Huachuca City, AZ after all...what else could you possibly have to do other than entertain us.
Thanks, that makes sense to me.Well, there's the... uh... oh, and I could always go... uh... alright, you got me. There's nothing to do here but go out into the desert canyons and shoot. I know, it's a lot better than when I came here for AIT back in '98. But since I don't live down in Sierra Vista, I don't feel like making the drive south unless I really need something down there. And Huachuca City hasn't changed, it's still nothing more than a speed trap on the highway. But it's cheaper to live here than in Sierra Vista, and I'm only 3.5 miles from the east gate. The good thing is that the gun community in this area is awesome. NRA memberships amongst the population are the norm, not the exception. 90% of my co-workers own guns, and there are a lot of gunsmiths in the area. We try to have a monthly shoot north of Whetstone, and there is usually a good turn-out, and sometimes one guy brings out his belt-fed toys to play with.BTW: I went to AIT there. It is not too bad of a place. The air was a bit hot and thin for a coastal guy like me but it could have been worse.
It sounds like a little slice of heaven...a brown, hot, desolate, snake and giant insect infested heaven. The good thing is that the gun community in this area is awesome.
