What is your favorite defensive load?

.38 Spl. - 125 gr. Fed. Nyclad +P

.357 Mag. - 125 gr. Rem. Golden Saber

9mm - 124 gr. Federal Hydrashok

.41 Mag. - Remington 210-gr. JHP

.45 ACP (revolver or semi-auto) - 230 gr. Rem. Golden Saber

Shotgun, my old 00 duty load.

38 SP, also my duty load, 110 gr Winchester +P+.

45 ACP, 185 gr Silvertips. Since there is no ineffective 45 ammo, I went with what groups best from my GM.

When you get right down to it, there really are no ineffective handgund loads...

It's just how quickly they affect the given target... :)

1.Teensy weensy pistol (NAA Mini) .22 cal Stinger
2.Tiny pistol (Beretta Jetfire) .25 cal MagSafe Defender
3.Small pistol (NAA Guardian) .32 cal Silvertip
4.Small flat pistol (Kel-Tec P-32) .32 cal Hydra-Shok
5.Small light pistol (Colt Mustang Pocketlite) .380 cal Hydra-Shok
6.Small powerful pistol (Glock 27) .40 cal Hydra-Shok/.40 cal Cor-Bon

Any of which is carried, determined by the type of pants I have on that day. (Sometimes any two.)

My defensive rounds are:

.357 Mag 145 grain WInchester Silver Tips

.357 SIG 124 grain Gold Dots ontop of 10 grains of Blue Dot

9mm 147 grain Horndey JHP over some VN350 (forgot charge)

.45 ACP 230 grain Hornedy JHP on top of 5 grains of good old fashioned Red Dot. Runs about 900 fps.

.45 Long Colt 300 JHP 6 grains Red Dot. Big Bang, big ouchie for the target. Will stop a medium sized black bear.
