What is your favorite DAO trigger?

I have a Sig 229 that was a pre owned Police Turn in. Was changed to DAO by the pd I assume, might have beem Born that way at the factory, dont really know. Like a 40 cal DA revolver with 13 shots and a fast reload!!

Own a pre-DAK P226 DAO pistol. Very nice consistant trigger pull. Once you start firing it, you almost forget it is DAO.

The P250 definitely has one of the better DAO triggers, though my preference is the Match LEM Hybrid setup on the HK USP series. It's technically DAO, but it functions like 2-stage AR trigger. Light take up to a very crisp break point and a short reset.

I have a DAK that is pretty good
But my 250 beats it

I have an early Para LDA and it is best but I never really considered it DAO

What is your favorite DAO trigger?

I'm on the other side of the coin. I don't have a favorite DAO trigger, in fact, I don't have a single DAO firearm. I have shot some (friend's guns) but overall, I am unimpressed. In my personal life, its a solution to a problem I don't have. And, after over 40 years of doing things my way, I see no point to changing now. In fact, shooting a DAO pistol worries my hindbrain, who is expecting the hammer to stay cocked, and when it sees it isn't whispers "the gun is broken!" in the back of my mind.

If you think DAO is useful to you, wonderful. Others must, as well, that's why they make them. But there's no use for them, for me.

I have SAO DA/SA etc, but DAO is just something I dont seem to have in an auto and for the sake of completeness I require one example. Preferably a nice example. :D

The more I shoot it,,,

The more I shoot it,,,
The more I like my Ruger LC9.

Everyone says what a terrible pull it has,,,
I'll admit it's somewhat lengthy,,,
But it's also very consistent.

By that I mean I have practiced enough with it,,,
That now I can stop and hold just before the release.

It's a long pull but very smooth and predictable,,,
I hold the sight on target better than I would have thought.

I'm getting quite a bit of practical accuracy with the gun.

DAO is certainly an "acquired taste", as they say. It's not for everyone, but for those who do like it and are used to it....it does just fine. I am one of those people. But I am also someone that thinks the standard Glock trigger is just fine as is - so go figure.

Others don't like DAO, or can't master it, etc.....and that is just fine, too.
We are lucky, IMO, that such variety exists - everyone can find his/her favorite system and the one that works best for them. And that is really what it's all about, anyway, isn't it ? :o

To me, if you can shoot a DA revolver, you should be able to shoot a DA semi. I grew up on DA wheelguns, so a DA semi was easy for me. With that said, I have 2 DA semis, P250 and P229 DAK SAS. I really like both of them a lot.

I hate DAO. I would say light LEM because it's the least DAO like.

The only DAOs I have now are for back pocket guns, Seecamp and micro desert eagle because nothing else sucks less in that role.

A Great Stock DA Trigger:

I think Kahr pistols have the best and smoothest out of the box triggers on the market today. They get even better with use. I love my Kahr pistols for their shoot-ability.

+1 on the Kahr; best DA trigger of any type, and my revolvers generally had 6-7# DA pulls. The Kahr is essentially what a DA pull *should be* in a perfect world, IMHO.

It depends on what kind of kahr it is tho. Certain kahrs are DAO others are just glock like strikerfired ones
BS. All Kahrs are partially cocked striker fired pistols.

Please back up your claim.

Bah you're right. I just read an article about the 'new' DAO kahr mk9 and I was all excited about it. Just checked it sku against the regular one. NOPE. I swear.
So much for that.
