what is your favorite bolt action 308?

Depends . . .

Hunting: Rem Model 7 in an olive drab/black web HS Precision stock with Leupold VX-II 2-7x compact.

Driving Tacks: Accurized Rem 700 VSSF with Leupold 3.5-10x LRT mil dot M1 in Badger bases/rings, Harris bipod.

Favorite .308

Mine,
Win Model 70, stainless classic, leopold dual dovetail mounts, and a new Ziess Conquest 3x9 40mm. This rifle seems to shoot everything [ammo] well.

I have a Win mod 70 classic compact in 7mm-08 ( I sometimes wish it was in .308) With a Leupold 3x9 compact scope in leupold rings. it shoots 5 shots in 1.25 moa cold barrel to hot. nice walnut stock and graceful lines.

Savage 110 Police Tac. in .308 is 1"MOA,the used 300WinMag Savage 110 PT is 1/2" MOA with factory Fed. ammo, slightly better with Hornady TAP stuff. Oh sorry, you said .308 Both optics are Burris 3-9 ??

Favorite .308??? That'd be my wood-stocked Remington 700 ADL w/2.5-8X Leupold Vari-X III in Leupold "Dual Dovetail" bases and rings, with a NICE three-pound trigger...with NO WORK to the stock, bedding, etc., an HONEST 1.25 moa gun...NOT BAD for an ADL!!!....mikey357

It would have to be the Rem 700PSS, Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x40mm LRT M1, and Mark 4 rings and base. I found out too late that I would need the Badger base to get out past 800yrds. I plan to upgrade soon.

Bone stock and still Sub 1/2MOA out of the box with proper break in and Fed GM Match. It's fun to give the 6PPC guys a run for their money every once in a while. I never win, but then again, it didn't cost me $4000-$5000.

It's also nice to be able to make ear shots on boar out to 200yrds.

GunLieber:

Its a Remington 700 Police with a Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x40 Tactical with mildots and a 6" sunshade. The mounts are Leupold QRW medium rings and 2pc bases. The bipod is a Harris.

Favorite 308?

That would be my one and only center fire rifle, an old Remington 788 that I purchased new in the mid 70's as I recall. It's equipped with a Tasco World Class 3x9x40. Prints 1.1" at 100 yards. All deer killed with this rifle were one-shot kills. I've thought about getting a nice new rifle, perhaps in another caliber, but then I ask myself, "Why?".

My favorite .308 also happens to be my favorite firearm, and possibly my favorite posession. Ruger MkII, custom barrel with integral scope pedestals by Wells Sport Shop, Sako Classic stock by McMillan. And a sweet trigger.
