What Is This Gun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there ya go.

IIRC, Sirhan Sirhan used an Iver Johnson .22.

Yes, RG revolvers will usually work OK for a while, and they all passed German proof tests. But they were not made for durability. I have seen them free-wheel, as some one mentioned, have seen barrels come out when fired (the barrel is glued in, not screwed), have seen loading gates blow out, etc.

Mostly, they just wear out. The frames are a zinc alloy, and the guns soon begin to rattle. Oddly, I have never seen either a barrel or cylinder actually split or blow out, so there is some quality there.

In the 1960's, they sold for as little as $9.95; dealer price was $7, so you can imagine what the factory cost was. (The anti-gun gang pretends that inflation and GCA 68 never happened; their propaganda still rants and raves about "the availabillity of cheap $9 pistols, a favorite of criminal gangs", etc.)

Jim

this is one of those guns where you put a few rounds in it to see how they go and then tuck it away until needed. i think it serves its purpose quite well. ;)

Ill pay $30 said-and-done for one if someone has one they want to sell. I mean come on. If it falls apart in ten minutes, its still fun.

Fun until it leaves you bleeding.

Had one years ago, a friend was shooting I was to the left about 2 ft and behind her gun hand about 1ft.
Small pieces of lead shavings were imbeded in my eye brow, luckily I had my safety glasses on

RGs

True story. A guy bought a 22 RG and brought it home and loaded it to sneak off and fire it. The wife found it and tossed it under the house. About a year latter a friend asked were was the RG? The wife piped up and said "I tossed it under the house". The friend said , can I go under the house and get it? And so he did. He found it with 5 green bullets in it and Owner of gun said toss it out. Not yet, because there was a large rattle snake about 2 feet away. The rattle snake moved and guy shot three times. IT WORKED! That was one gun he has added to his collection.

Yep, I guess so. When Larry the Cable Guy is our Home town Hero, There might be a few Rednecks up here (50 percent rednecks, 50 percent hicks). You hear a few stories at the local gun shop when every one is around the cracker barrel drinking coffee and enjoying themselfs.

According to my 1983 Gun Digest, the RG 23 was imported by RG Industries and this model listed for $72.95.

I have seen these guns sold for over $100 recently, but I have no idea who buys them and what for. If it's working, and shows no signs of quitting, I say shoot it.
After all, it's made in Germany, it must be good.

The same kinda guys that are collecting thos old I V revolvers

For the record, Reagan was shot w/a Model 14, also a .22. I have no idea what the differences in the models are.

I believe the 14 is a special Tactical SEAL Team Six Authorized, accurized version that can quickly be fitted with a silencer, night vision adaptable and is capable of firing .22 short, .22 Long AND .22 LR depending upon mission objectives. When things get ugly, get the only gun uglier than a Glock, get an RG. I might add, the frame of an RG has a higher melt point than a Glock.... :D

The model 14 was one ugly ass gun. The Model 23 on the other hand...

I dont know, I like it :).

As cheap as an RG is/was, sometimes it's all a person can afford. They were never intended to be target pistols or to be shot 100 times a week. If it's all you got, it's better than crying and begging "Please don't hurt me!"

The 2nd applies to poor people too.

I shoot the gun with remington gold pack hollow points. And it works great i point the muzzel at somthing and it destroys it. For accuracy i cant really tell you considering i never shoot paper with it. Mostly apples and stuff. But it does real good on them. It seems to be pretty reliable, I have had it for a year and no problems at all not even a misfire. And for what you want to use it for i would say it is fine easily concealable in a pocket of a jacket or baggy pants. I got this gun for free so when it breaks down i wont be to sad. :D
