What is everybody using on dove?

This is my second year out for this, so I'm still trying to get my groove on.

.12, .20, something else? #6, 7.5, 8? Improved cylinder, modified, full? How about barrel length?

I'd like to hear from you; thanks ahead of time.

Wally World 100 rd pack- 1 1/8 oz of 7.5 shot in a Remington 1100 Improved Cylinder choke. In fact, I use the I/C choke for everything...
As far as cooking them- Put the breasts in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and add half a bottle of Frank's Red Hot...Mmmmmmmmmmm

I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over it.71/2's or 8's.

I used WinAA's,1 1/8 oz Supersport sporting clays ammo.Seemed to work.71/2s.

Have fun!I shoot a double,used skeet 1 and mod

I use the cheapest load I can find, usually a trap load. In a 20ga with a 28inch barrel with a modified choke. They are live clay pigeons to me, just readying me up for pheasant and quail season.

7 1/2 or 8 is usually recommended on dove and pheasant. 8 is usually used on quail, for duck, 6 or 4 work well, and for geese 4 and 2 are usually used.

7-1/2 or 8. 12 or 20, depending on personal preference. I used Improved Cylinder and AA, opening day. Seemed to work okay. Sorta depends on the type of shooting; tighter choke for longer ranges in pass shooting or I/C for shooting when at a stock tank or food source.

I have used very-full choke and high-brass 7-1/2 for really long shooting, pass-shooting on whitewing here at home. Gets sorta bothersome to the shoulder, though. :)

I prefer a 28" barreled 20 ga. pump with 7/8 oz. #8 reloads (loaded to field load specs) and modified choke.

I've also done well with a 26" 11-87 12 ga. with 1 or 1 1/8 oz Remington dove promo loads #8 (or equivalent reloads) and IC choke.

I recently tried a Benelli M1 12 ga. with Winchester universal 1 1/8 oz #8 shot and mod. choke and did not shoot well at all. It might be all in my head but I started shooting much better when I switched back to the 20 ga.

I'll be different........... 28 gauge....over under......IC/M chokes........either 8 or 7-1/2, depending on what is in my 10 drawer chest of shells.......

WHAT!!!

You guys are using scatterguns for doves?:D

Where is the challenge in that? What sporting chance do those poor little birds have with multiple projectiles launched at them?
