If both sides (I'm trying to be impartial) would just stick to truths and facts, not warped statistics and emotions, maybe they would get to the bottom of some issues and we could concentrate on enjoying guns...

I hope every single one of you guys (or girls) are members of the NRA. They are the only significant organization that tries to protect the right bear arms in the USA. Consider making a contribution to their political action group.

Politicians have learned as have people in general that you do not argue a point impartially. I used to think people were rational. But you make extreme cases that support your views. Any shift in that direction is a win.
 
Adding to the KTW "original cop killer" bullets post by Alan, it was the media hype and general misconception that the teflon coating enabled the bullet to penetrate a kevlar vest where a normal bullet of the same caliber would not. Point of interest---at the time I was made aware of these "cop killer" bullets, there had never been an instance of a cop being killed by one. How's that for anti-gun propaganda....
