What is a good 1911 really worth?

Gun buyers today value performance over cosmetics. Getting a high polish finish takes time, skill and doesn’t do much for the performance of the gun.

There are plenty of old Colts out there in great condition if you’ve got the funds. I’ve got a number of old Colts in shooter grade condition. The polishing on them was outstanding but people don’t want to pay a 50% premium for a gun you can use as a mirror.
 
Reliable , accurate (1 1/2" - 2" groups at 25 yards) , adjustable sights , all stainless steel construction .
My AMT Hardballer meets all those requirements . the Colts , Commanders and Gold Cup were all tried and found wanting or lacking ... the AMT Hardballer has survived the test of time . With Mec-Gar magazines it takes alicking and keeps on ticking ... it's lying on the computer desk just to my right ...standing guard and ready to serve .
How much is it worth ... to me ... Priceless !
