I wholeheartedly agree! Preventing an attacker already in close quarters from separating you from your weapon, is a skill that everyone carrying a gun needs to know.
Doesn't that usually mean simply, "Hold him off with your non-gun hand and fire at him with elbow bent and tucked against body so the gun is not extended toward him for him to grab"?
I thought that the original thread-starter question was about being hounded by a guy who is coming at you UNarmed, but knowing that his intention is to TAKE your gun and then use it against you.
Like, for example, let's say you're on your property, and you hear noise on your front porch at night. You open your front door, gun in hand (fine, not tactically a great idea but still something that many people end up doing), to find a stranger on the front walk. He turns, aggressively, no weapon in sight. He begins to approach you, saying stuff that may be threatening, or maybe unintelligible. You know that he sees your gun. ARE YOU ABLE TO LEGALLY SHOOT, SINCE YOU KNOW THAT
IF HE GETS YOUR GUN, IT'S LIGHTS-OUT? Keeping in mind, of course, that until he gets YOUR gun, he doesn't have one.
