What I like about TFL

Sport

New member
I usually log onto TFL daily.
I know there will always be several new
threads of interest, as well as the
ongoing debates.
At my age,mid-fifties, I find myself still
willing to share;but more importantly,
still eager to learn.
When one is passionate about firearms, one
realizes the learning process is never
ending.

I just logged on to a discussion about how
safely drop a cocked hammer. Another
thread discussed the merits of one brand of
ammunition versus another.

Then there are the non-gun threads, like
DorGunR losing his dog and Greyfox being
hospitalized. Our humanity toward each
other is clearly evident and applaudable.

What a treasure we, all five thousand plus
members have.

Thanks Rich and everyone who makes TFL the
tremendous resource and communications tool
it is.

I couldn't agree more :)

Sport, I have to agree. Not being able to grab every piece of newspaper and watch the TV much, I get some of my news from here. If I feel the need to dig deeper, I am usually afforded a link or website where I can find more on the subject.
As far as learning, WOW! When given several viewpoints on the same subject, then to try some out, learning which is right for you. Boys and girls, I have learned much more than I could ever contribute. For this I also thank you all.
To those who put together and maintain this forum, I send a hearty 'well-done' and my appreciation.

Amen, brother.

Thanks to Rich and the gang for the best forum on the web.

Rich and everyone who makes TFL a reality have created something very special here. It is the right resource, at the right time in history.

We owe a great deal to these folks, and it is a debt that cannot be repaid. However, we can try ... and, I'll buy lunch or dinner when Rich or any of our TFL volunteers come to Phoenix. But, when we go to the range, the ammo is dutch treat. ;)

There are many that seem like old friends here:

Jeff Thomas,
Rich,
4v50,
Dennis,
Oleg,
DC...to name just a few. Each with their own ideosyncracies that occasionally frustrate, but mostly just point out the beauty of individuality. We are enriched by TFL, indeed. I think it is vital for RKBA folks to celebrate all the positive things we agree on, and that's really what The Firing Line is about.

What you all said. So true, and I agree completely. One of the things that makes this board special is the lack of personal attacks on those who disagree, and the lack of any major trolls.

Just a community of like-minded enthusiasts sharing their passion for a hobby, lifestyle and right.

Count me IN.

I've made several new friends thanks to TFL.. hope too see many of them this saturday at an IDPA competition. ;)

Always lots of heated AND well informed debate here, as well as coll anecdotes and fun topics.. can't stay away.

Rich will you make me a moderator for at least the month of May? I'm planning a trip to Arizona and could really use that free dinner that Jeff Thomas offered the TFL volunteers. :D

I like TFL for many reasons. One is the fact that I have learned so much from coming here. Never in my life did I think I would become a 'firearm enthusiast" (still could use a spell checker in here though ;)). The serious topics I learn alot, and the fun threads I laugh alot. If you asked me to come here a year ago I would have been scared to death to talk to 'gun owners' but now I think I fit in here more than I do anywhere else. :D Thanks to everyone here at TFL! My online family! :D

Not only did I learn about guns but also about Shiner :)

I wish more people could see us like this.
Most often, the first mental picture in mind of many in this country when they hear "guns" is some kind of twisted Red-Green Show on crack.
That's not us.
We are familymen, doctors, teachers, mechanics, lawyers, mothers, students, pastors, artists, priests, scientists, engineers, grandparents, newlyweds, fiancees, divorcees, graduates, retirees.
We're just regular folks, taking responsibility for ourselves, our families, and our lives.
That's who we are.

As an aside; I been buying a lot fewer
firearms magazines since first logging
onto TFL and some of the other gun
forums.
My "gun reviews" now tend to come from
your real life experience. Usually several
posters will provide feedback.
The price of admission here has cetrainly
been attractive

I concur, Sport. I still have some subscription time left, but will probably back off one or two upon expiration. Of the magazines I mean, not me!
